Under the office of the CTO, the Yahoo Platforms Engineering (YPE) team enables all of the Yahoo verticals to develop and deliver the best possible products to our customers globally with the highest standards. Yahoo's Platforms Engineering organization creates modern, secure, and efficient software platforms to power all of Yahoo's brands at scale. Within YPE, the Business Operations and Strategy (BOS) team is responsible for maintaining operational excellence. We develop and execute team strategy, create and maintain best-in-class processes and procedures, and coordinate cross-team priorities and initiatives to ensure the highest quality of service for our business partners and key stakeholders.
A Lot About You
The Business Operations Manager is responsible for leading a team to manage all internal business operations, advancing business processes, and ensuring the organization is on track to meet its financial, operational and strategic goals. You are a critically thinking self-starter who is informed by rigorous data analysis, drives results, and thrives in a cross-collaboration environment with functions such as finance, strategy, and product. This position works with the lead of the Business Operations & Strategy group and oversees several Business Analyst roles to gather and analyze data, test hypotheses, and develop and communicate recommendations to leaders and stakeholders.
Responsibilities

• Business & Portfolio Management
  
  • Collaborate with YPE leadership and stakeholders to drive quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKR) execution to ensure milestones are met
  • Manage a team of business analysts who support resource and financial planning and budgeting for the various organizations within Yahoo Platforms Engineering
  • Work closely with all business units and functions to align operations with strategy and lead routine YPE Business Operations Reviews for executive leadership
  • Ensure teams within YPE adhere to the appropriate governance functions in accordance with guidelines, policies, and practices, including but not limited to: resource planning, status reporting, change control, risk and issue management, demand and project life cycle deliverables, financial management, project planning, time tracking, etc.
  • Liaise with the Digital Transformation Office on demands/project intake, processes, and procedures through project completion

• Financial & Resource Management
  
  • Reporting to the Director, manage budget planning and forecasting, hiring strategy, and resource management in alignment with Yahoo Engineering budget in collaboration with Finance and Human Resources
  • Manage YPE's OPEX and CAPEX budgets, headcount, and spend, in partnership with YPE leadership and finance, to ensure effective budget management
  • Manage the YPE annual capital and expense portfolio budget process in partnership with Finance and CTO Operations

• Operational Process Improvement
  
  • Liaise with other Business Operations teams within Yahoo Engineering on frameworks, processes, procedures, tools, etc. that are being developed or improved
  • Based on data-driven insights, manage the overall creation, implementation and on-going maintenance process of internal standard operating procedures and documentation that drive efficiency and efficacy
  • Drive and ensure a positive onboarding and ongoing training program for the organization
  • Resolve internal process- and procedure-related conflicts and escalate when needed
  • Provide recommendations based on industry best practice, experience and stakeholder feedback for new or improved processes, reviews, reporting, etc. to support long-term growth and maturity of YPE's portfolio

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in program management, operations management, business analysis, or equivalent; experience working within a tech organization is a plus
• 1+ years experience managing other direct reports
• Bachelor's degree in Business or another quantitative field, or related experience
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets a must
• Proven track record leading teams and working independently to self-start, gain buy-in, and deliver results
• Budget management experience
• Financial analysis and modeling experience
• Strong organizational, verbal/written communication, and time-management skills
• Demonstrated ability to execute against strategy in fast-paced, shifting environments and to build trust among stakeholders

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $105,375.00 - $175,625.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives.
