RS21 is seeking a Software Developer with an active Secret Clearance and C++ programming experience to help us work on challenging and exciting projects within RS21 partner organizations.
In this role, you will be working on-site within the team environment of one of our partner organizations. This full-time position is located in Boulder, CO where you will be collaborating with an inclusive team of talented software engineers with a broad mix of experience levels who are designing, developing, and maintaining next-generation satellite software.
In addition to working daily with our partner organization, you will have access to RS21 subject matter experts and technology to enhance the impact and effectiveness of projects. You will also serve as a central point of contact between RS21 and our partner organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Practice disciplined software engineering (e.g., automated testing, code reviews, and writing beautiful, readable code).
- Make key decisions on tech stack, and system design.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to build functional, complete, and well-performing technical solutions, with an emphasis of personal responsibility on implementation processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4 Years' experience developing in C++.
- Experience developing in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Experienced developing in an Agile environment.
- Experienced with the Atlassian Tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills.
- An active and in-scope Secret U.S. security clearance.
- 4 years of relevant experience and a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) bachelor’s degree are typically needed for this role. A master’s degree in a STEM field may be substituted for 2 years of work experience. Non-degreed professionals with demonstrated skills and relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with some area of satellite system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models.
RS21 is committed to transparent and fair compensation. The hiring range for this position is an annual salary range of $110K-$125K per year. The final salary within this range will be determined based on relevant experience. This position is considered exempt for federal wage-hour laws.
