Job description

Team: Business Development

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) based in the United States.

This is a senior executive role responsible for leading and scaling a high-growth revenue organization within a cloud infrastructure business operating at a pivotal stage of expansion. The CRO will oversee Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and Revenue Operations while directly contributing to strategic deals and customer relationships. This role combines hands-on commercial leadership with executive-level strategy, focusing on optimizing an already strong foundation rather than building from scratch. The ideal candidate will help accelerate growth from approximately $6M to $18M ARR through disciplined execution and scalable go-to-market systems. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to align technical capabilities with market demand. This is a highly visible leadership position with direct impact on company trajectory and long-term value creation.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and align all revenue-generating functions, including Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and Revenue Operations, ensuring cohesive execution across teams.
  • Actively support strategic sales cycles, including mid-market and enterprise deals, executive negotiations, and expansion opportunities with existing customers.
  • Drive land-and-expand strategies to increase customer lifetime value in partnership with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering.
  • Strengthen and scale marketing effectiveness by optimizing ROI-positive programs and eliminating underperforming initiatives.
  • Establish and enforce structured sales methodologies, forecasting rigor, pipeline discipline, and qualification frameworks (e.g., MEDDPICC).
  • Improve existing revenue systems and processes to increase efficiency, predictability, and performance across the organization.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to enhance go-to-market execution for cloud infrastructure and open-source-based solutions.

  • Requirements:

    • Proven experience scaling revenue organizations in growth-stage technology companies, ideally in cloud infrastructure, SaaS, hosting, managed services, or related technical sectors.
    • Demonstrated success in scaling recurring revenue businesses, ideally achieving significant growth (e.g., 3X ARR expansion in a similar range).
    • Strong technical business acumen with the ability to engage confidently with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with infrastructure technologies such as cloud infrastructure, IaaS, bare metal, or open-source platforms is strongly preferred.
    • Player-coach leadership style with willingness to remain close to customers and frontline execution while operating at the executive level.
    • Experience building, hiring, and developing high-performing sales and marketing teams in fast-paced environments.
    • Strong operational discipline with expertise in modern sales methodologies, forecasting, and revenue operations.

    • Benefits:

      • Competitive base salary starting at $180,000+ annually
      • Performance-based variable compensation opportunities of 50%+ of base salary
      • Incentive stock options (ISOs) available based on experience and alignment with long-term growth
      • Remote-first flexibility with preference for U.S.-based candidates
      • Executive-level exposure with direct influence on company strategy and board-level discussions
      • Opportunity to shape and scale a high-growth cloud infrastructure business at a pivotal stage
      • Collaborative, technical environment working closely with engineering and product leadership
      • Travel opportunities as needed for key customer and leadership engagements
