This executive role offers the opportunity to define and lead the technology vision of a rapidly scaling health technology organization.
You will own the strategic direction of engineering, artificial intelligence, and platform innovation while driving measurable business impact.

Accountabilities

The Chief Technology Officer will be responsible for defining and executing the long-term technology strategy while leading engineering, AI, and infrastructure initiatives. This role requires a hands-on strategic leader who can build high-performing teams, establish scalable technical foundations, and ensure technology investments align with organizational goals.

  • Own the overall technology and AI strategy, creating a roadmap that supports business growth, product innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Lead the transition toward an AI-first technology ecosystem by integrating advanced AI capabilities, LLMs, and machine learning solutions into core products.
  • Oversee engineering excellence by building and mentoring a highly skilled technical organization focused on quality, speed, and execution.
  • Guide AI/ML architecture decisions, ensuring scalable, secure, and competitive solutions within a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
  • Manage engineering and AI budgets with a strong focus on capital efficiency, measurable ROI, and maximizing impact from technology investments.
  • Establish strong data governance, security, privacy, and compliance frameworks to protect sensitive information and support enterprise-scale operations.
  • Partner with executive leadership across business functions to align technical capabilities with growth strategies and customer needs.
  • Develop talent strategies, succession planning processes, and mentorship frameworks to reduce key-person dependencies and strengthen organizational resilience.
  • Provide leadership during technical transitions, ensuring continuity, knowledge transfer, and reliable delivery across engineering initiatives.
  • Define global technical strategies for distributed engineering teams, ensuring effective collaboration and scalable execution across regions.
  • Balance innovation with risk management by maintaining strong security, compliance, and operational standards while accelerating product development.
  • Requirements

    The ideal candidate is a senior technology executive with extensive experience leading engineering organizations, scaling AI-driven products, and building secure, high-performing technology platforms. This leader should combine technical depth, strategic vision, operational discipline, and strong executive communication skills.

    • 12+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 5+ years in a CTO, VP of Engineering, or equivalent senior technology leadership role within a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
    • Proven experience leading technical organizations through major growth phases, organizational transformations, and strategic inflection points.
    • Demonstrated success building and scaling AI/ML products, including experience with LLMs, AI agents, predictive models, and modern AI architectures.
    • Strong understanding of cloud architectures, APIs, microservices, data platforms, and large-scale software systems across environments such as AWS or GCP.
    • Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing engineering teams with a focus on talent density and operational effectiveness.
    • Proven ability to manage technology budgets, optimize resources, and demonstrate measurable business impact from engineering investments.
    • Expertise establishing security, compliance, and governance frameworks, including experience with HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, IAM practices, and technical risk management.
    • Experience implementing operational processes such as feedback loops, succession planning, reliability practices, and scalable delivery frameworks.
    • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence business leaders and collaborate effectively across marketing, operations, partnerships, and executive teams.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
    • Preferred: Experience in healthcare technology, including EHR integrations, FHIR standards, and payer/provider ecosystems.
    • Preferred: Experience managing globally distributed engineering teams, including international teams and remote collaboration models.
    • Preferred: Familiarity with MLOps, model governance, data engineering practices, and technologies such as GCP, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Node.js, and modern AI/ML frameworks.
