Job Description

The Sales Operation Analyst within Cigna's Producer Operations will support producer commission payments. This role will support the accurate calculation and timely payment of commissions to our various agents/agencies/sales partners and the completion of accounting work related to this including, but not limited to journals, transactions, validations, audits, and data entry.

Additionally, the analyst will administer producer commission in the appropriate Cigna systems, solve problems, and ensure internal/external business partner satisfaction. The analyst may lead and/or support project work and other non-transactional processes. The analyst will also answer agent's escalated questions via email and phone.

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to process high volumes of routine producer transactions in accordance with defined procedures and compliance rules
  • Respond to inquiries from business partners and/or external producers in accordance with defined metrics in a clear, customer focused and professional manner.
  • Support departmental projects and improvement initiatives
  • Understands and manages various systems across the multiple business segments
  • Meet and exceed timing and quality standards, while maintaining professionalism
  • Active engagement with team members and business partners in meetings and training sessions. Contributes ideas, shares knowledge, and asks questions, demonstrating critical thinking skills.
  • Identify procedural problems; formulate and recommend well thought out suggestions for improvement
  • Ensure a flexible approach to shifting priorities; changes in technology, responsibilities, processes and organizational structure.
  • Be open to feedback about general performance or specific events
  • Assist Agent Resource Center with agent questions regarding compensation or debit balances
  • Audit compensation payments (commissions, overrides) including performing SOX audits
  • Run SQL queries
  • Ensure accurate payment of commissions according to department standards
  • Create manual commission adjustments, payments, direct deposits, etc
  • Create General Ledger vouchers, stop payments of checks and reissues of checks
  • Initiate debit balance collection process and establishment of Promissory Notes
  • Interact with other departments regarding the payment of agent commissions
  • Provide data reports to management as requested


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Finance or Accounting
  • 1-3 years previous work experience
  • Accounting or Financial Analysis experience preferred
  • Proficient in use of PC based systems: Microsoft Word and SQL
  • Effective problem solver
  • Attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and organize
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Acts independently and requires minimal direction
  • Must be a team player with a positive attire
  • Expertise in various Cigna systems (LifePRO, etc.)


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 23 - 35 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
