The Content Strategist is responsible for shaping innovative, insight-driven content strategies that deliver measurable business outcomes for clients. This role leads the development of content across the entire customer lifecycle and all relevant channels—including web, blog, social, email, nurture campaigns, paid media, events, and direct mail—to drive engagement, conversion, retention, and customer satisfaction.
Working closely with clients and cross-functional teams, the Content Strategist translates business goals into compelling brand narratives and scalable content programs. This person partners with account, copywriting, design, and analytics teams to create strategic plans grounded in audience insights, performance data, and market context. The role also leads project workstreams, mentors junior team members, collaborates with senior leadership, and solves moderately complex business challenges by adapting and applying strategic methods and frameworks.
You Are
A strategic, curious, and highly collaborative thinker who understands how content influences behavior and drives business value. You know how to turn audience insights into actionable plans that connect with consumers across B2B and B2C environments. You bring deep experience across channels and industries, with a strong command of personas, customer journeys, content ecosystems, governance models, SEO, and performance optimization. You are equally comfortable shaping vision, guiding execution, and presenting strategic recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end content strategy development, including research, planning, creation, implementation, analysis, optimization, and refinement
- Build and present compelling strategic narratives that connect client business objectives to innovative, multi-channel content strategies
- Develop approaches for audience targeting, content distribution, and amplification across owned, earned, and paid channels
- Ensure content is optimized for discoverability, engagement, sharing, and conversion through SEO and channel best practices
- Create foundational strategic deliverables, including content architecture, messaging frameworks, personas, customer journeys, editorial calendars, distribution plans, and content maturity models
- Align content to each stage of the buyer journey to support demand generation goals, including MQLs, SALs, SQLs, pipeline, and opportunity creation
- Review content deliverables and provide direction to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with brand voice, tone, messaging, and campaign objectives
- Lead client workshops and strategic working sessions to drive alignment on brand messaging, positioning, personas, and content direction
- Draft clear and effective creative briefs and content briefs, including asset recommendations and messaging guidance
- Partner with analytics teams to evaluate content performance and continuously improve strategy through data-driven insights
- Support scoping, proposals, pitches, and new business efforts by developing strategic recommendations backed by business rationale and measurable ROI
- Guide and mentor junior strategists while leading workstreams and fostering strong cross-functional collaboration
Here’s What You Need
- 5 years of experience developing content strategies for a broad range of clients across B2B and B2C markets
- 5 years of experience owning content strategy development and execution, including personas, journeys, content architecture, roadmaps, and messaging frameworks
- 5 years of experience with digital content implementation, content production models, and marketing technology platforms
- 5 years of experience building and executing content strategies in data-driven marketing environments across multiple channels
- 3 years of experience serving as a lead content strategist, including creating and presenting multi-channel content plans or proposals to clients
- Proven expertise in content distribution and amplification, with strong knowledge of email, social, paid media, segmentation, positioning, and market analysis
- Experience gathering and applying qualitative and quantitative insights to inform strategic content planning and decision-making
- High school diploma or GED
Bonus Points If
- You have a bachelor’s degree and/or 7+ years of relevant experience in digital and content marketing
- You have experience in Health & Life Sciences, Financial Services, or Retail
- You demonstrate strong influencing and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently lead client and internal discussions
- You are self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- You bring a positive, solution-oriented mindset and a passion for producing exceptional work
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location,
role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation, based on full-time
employment, for roles that may be hired as set forth below.
