The Corporate Controller will lead the accounting function of a fast-growing, technology-driven organization with a strong focus on operational excellence and strategic growth.
This role offers the opportunity to own end-to-end financial operations, including reporting, tax, treasury, compliance, and process optimization.
Working closely with executive leadership, you will act as a trusted financial partner and help shape important business decisions.
You will manage a multi-entity, multi-currency environment spanning Canada and the United States, supporting continued expansion and acquisitions.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will combine technical expertise with team development and process improvement.
You will have the autonomy to strengthen financial systems, improve efficiencies, and build scalable practices for a growing organization.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who thrives in complexity and enjoys creating lasting impact.

Accountabilities:

As Corporate Controller, you will own the financial operations function while ensuring accuracy, compliance, scalability, and strategic alignment across the organization. You will lead a small accounting team, partner with senior stakeholders, and continuously improve financial processes and systems.

  • Own monthly financial close and consolidation activities across multiple legal entities and currencies, ensuring accurate financial reporting under applicable accounting standards.
  • Lead external audits, tax compliance activities, and regulatory requirements across Canadian and US jurisdictions, including corporate filings, sales taxes, transfer pricing, and government programs.
  • Manage treasury operations, including cash forecasting, banking relationships, foreign exchange activities, credit facilities, and lender reporting.
  • Oversee revenue recognition, accounts receivable processes, and financial controls for a multi-product SaaS business.
  • Manage payroll, benefits administration, and equity-related processes across multiple entities.
  • Build and strengthen internal controls, approval frameworks, documentation, and accounting processes to support business growth.
  • Optimize financial systems and tools, including ERP improvements, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions by integrating new entities, aligning accounting structures, and incorporating acquired operations into financial processes.
  • Mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing finance environment.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership by translating complex financial matters into clear recommendations and business insights.
  • Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader with strong technical accounting expertise, excellent judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You bring a combination of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and strong communication skills.

    • Canadian CPA designation required; CPA, CA background preferred, with US CPA considered an asset.
    • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience in SaaS, software, or technology environments.
    • Prior experience leading a controllership function or operating at a senior controller level with ownership of accounting operations.
    • Strong background in public accounting, audit, or tax from a Big Four or large national accounting firm.
    • Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations across Canadian and US operations.
    • Deep knowledge of ASPE accounting standards and SaaS revenue recognition principles.
    • Proven experience managing external audits, tax compliance, and relationships with advisors, auditors, and financial stakeholders.
    • Experience with treasury operations, including cash management, banking platforms, FX, and credit facilities.
    • Strong proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, including implementation or optimization experience.
    • Experience supporting M&A activities and integrating acquired entities is an asset.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to communicate complex accounting and financial topics clearly to both technical and non-financial audiences.
    • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to manage deadlines, ambiguity, and competing priorities.
    • Benefits:

The organization offers a flexible, growth-oriented environment designed to support employees professionally and personally.

      • Competitive compensation range of approximately CAD $175,000–$200,000.
      • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and RRSP matching opportunities.
      • Comprehensive employer-paid health and wellness benefits.
      • Parental leave programs to support growing families.
      • Annual professional development budget for courses, certifications, and career growth.
      • Mentorship opportunities with experienced leaders and industry professionals.
      • Remote and hybrid work options with access to office hubs across Canada and the US.
      • Monthly stipend to support an effective remote or hybrid work setup.
      • Modern hardware and tools to enable productive work.
      • Paid time off and programs focused on employee well-being and work-life balance.
