About the Role
As a Corporate Counsel you will provide legal advice and assistance on privacy and product matters related to JustAnswer’s consumer product offerings and services. You will collaborate with multiple teams across our organization, such as our product and marketing teams, as they develop and launch innovative new products and services. You will also support the team in helping draft and review contracts and get deals over the finish line. You will be part of a small, fast-moving, and quickly-growing legal team that impacts the company’s internet platform and other aspects of its business. You will be a critical legal resource to the organization and will have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of legal areas.Â
What You’ll Do
•   Respond promptly and effectively to legal issues and requests from internal functions
•   Advise various teams with respect to laws and regulations applicable to the company’s business and platform and assist teams in evaluating legal risks
•   Provide advice with respect to privacy matters
•   Counsel product team on legal issues arising throughout the product development lifecycle
•   Advise on the lifecycle of a product including identifying and mitigating risks and evaluating and ensuring compliance
•   Assist the company in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
•   Assist in training employees on legal issues and company policies
•   Handle additional projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
•   J.D. degree from an accredited law school
•   Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant legal experience
•   In-house experience preferred
•   Experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial agreements
•   Knowledge of privacy laws, regulations, and best practices
•   Experience in product counseling
•   Experience working on privacy or product matters in the tech or internet industry is a bonus
•   Experience providing counsel to e-commerce companies with products or services offered to consumers preferred
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
•   Strong interpersonal skills, business judgment, strategic thinking and work ethic and must be dynamic and team oriented
•   Ability to work both independently and with a team
•   Ability to work efficiently with cross-functional teams and manage numerous complex projects simultaneously under tight deadline pressure

Work Environment
JustAnswer US has adopted a remote-first/full-remote work environment from most US-based locations. Some teams do occasionally have the option to meet in-person for teaming, collaboration, or social events. With employee wellbeing as a top priority, where legally permissible, employees are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to attend these optional in-person events.
