Job description

Team: Others

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Course Lead, Middle School Math Solution based in United States.

This role is a high-impact opportunity to shape how middle school mathematics is taught and learned at scale through a mastery-based instructional model. You will design, refine, and own the quality of math curriculum content that supports students moving from foundational understanding to true mastery. Working within a mission-driven, education-focused environment, you will translate the science of learning into clear, structured, and highly effective instructional materials. The role blends curriculum design, instructional leadership, and hands-on content creation, with a strong emphasis on clarity, rigor, and student accessibility. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure instructional excellence and product alignment. Your work will directly influence educators and students across a wide network, scaling beyond individual classrooms to national and global reach. This is a fully remote role with occasional travel and significant ownership over both strategy and execution.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and develop middle school math lessons aligned with a mastery-based instructional model, ensuring clarity, rigor, and strong pedagogical structure.
  • Set and enforce a high quality bar for all math content, evaluating accuracy, alignment to learning science, and classroom usability.
  • Translate expert teaching practices into explicit, replicable instructional sequences, including examples, scaffolds, and misconceptions.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate content creation while applying strong instructional judgment to refine and validate outputs.
  • Build instructional materials that support students who are behind grade level, incorporating prerequisite activation and structured scaffolding.
  • Collaborate closely with product leadership and engineering teams to align instructional design with platform capabilities and tools.
  • Contribute to the evolution of scope, sequence, and curriculum design standards across the middle school math program.
  • Requirements:

    • Extensive experience as an outstanding middle school math teacher, with a proven record of improving student outcomes and closing learning gaps.
    • Deep mastery of middle school mathematics and strong understanding of how concepts build toward algebra readiness.
    • Strong grounding in the science of learning and its application to instructional design and curriculum development.
    • Proven experience designing math curriculum, lessons, units, or full programs for use by other educators.
    • Ability to make implicit teaching strategies explicit, structured, and reproducible for broader use.
    • Comfort using AI tools in instructional design workflows, with strong editorial judgment to evaluate and refine outputs.
    • Highly self-directed, organized, and effective in fast-paced, autonomous environments requiring ownership end-to-end.
    • Passion for continuous learning in both mathematics education and emerging instructional technologies.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive salary range of $150,000–$175,000 annually.
      • Employer-sponsored health insurance, including medical coverage.
      • Dental and vision insurance, plus additional ancillary benefits.
      • 403(b) retirement plan with employer match.
      • Generous paid time off, including vacation, holidays, parental leave, sick leave, and flexible “Me Days.”
      • Annual professional learning and development budget after eligibility period.
      • Flexible remote work arrangement with autonomy over working hours.
      • Life insurance coverage and additional employee wellness benefits.
