This role is focused on building, evolving, and maintaining robust backend systems that support critical corporate and government operations. You will work in a dynamic engineering environment that combines modern technologies with legacy systems that remain essential to business continuity. The position involves designing and developing scalable APIs, ensuring system reliability, and contributing to integration layers across complex architectures. You will also play a key role in maintaining and improving existing modules, supporting production stability, and participating in technical decision-making. Accountabilities:
- Develop, evolve, and maintain backend APIs and services using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Maintain and improve legacy systems, including components built with EJB, JPA, and JSF, ensuring system continuity and stability.
- Implement and support system integrations, including REST and SOAP APIs, authentication flows, messaging systems, and external services.
- Work with relational databases (especially Oracle), ensuring data integrity and efficient query performance.
- Support build, deployment, and troubleshooting activities across development, testing, and production environments.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and software quality guidelines.
- Contribute to test automation and continuous improvement of engineering processes and system reliability.
- Completed higher education in Information Technology or related fields (technologist, bachelor’s, or postgraduate degree).
- Solid experience with Java (versions 8 to 21) and object-oriented programming principles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot for building RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of Spring ecosystem (Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Validation, Actuator).
- Experience with relational databases, especially Oracle.
- Solid understanding of JPA/Hibernate and persistence layer design.
- Experience with REST and SOAP integrations in complex environments.
- Knowledge of messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or equivalent solutions.
- Experience with Maven and/or Gradle build tools.
- Proficiency in Git using collaborative workflows.
- Experience with automated testing and code quality practices.
- Ability to understand, maintain, and evolve legacy systems.
- Strong analytical thinking, adaptability, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with JBoss/WildFly.
- Knowledge of JasperReports and Apache PDFBox.
- Experience with Keycloak authentication and authorization.
- Familiarity with tools such as Log4j2, Spotless, Checkstyle, and SonarQube.
