This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Design Project Manager based in Canada.

This is a high-impact project leadership role focused on delivering complex, mission-critical design projects, particularly within the rapidly growing data center sector. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams spanning engineering, architecture, BIM/VDC, and technical design disciplines to ensure seamless execution from concept through construction support. The role requires strong coordination skills to manage scope, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder expectations across fast-moving, technically complex environments. You will act as the central point of contact for clients while ensuring alignment between design teams and project objectives. A key part of your impact will be driving delivery excellence across highly technical infrastructure projects while maintaining quality, efficiency, and financial performance. This is a hands-on leadership role where technical understanding and project execution capabilities are equally critical.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead end-to-end delivery of complex multidisciplinary design projects, ensuring alignment across teams, clients, and technical stakeholders.

  • Lead multidisciplinary design teams including electrical, mechanical, ICT, structural, BIM/VDC, and architectural specialists
  • Manage full project lifecycle from proposal and kickoff through design completion and construction support
  • Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout delivery
  • Define and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation
  • Monitor financial performance including forecasts, invoicing, fee utilization, and change management
  • Coordinate design reviews, project meetings, and cross-disciplinary collaboration activities
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Ensure all deliverables meet QA/QC standards, client expectations, and industry best practices
  • Support business development activities including proposals, fee estimates, and client presentations
  • Mentor project teams and promote collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence
  • Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced project manager with a strong technical background in engineering or design consulting and proven success delivering complex infrastructure projects.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline
    • 7+ years of project management experience in engineering, architecture, or design consulting environments
    • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams on data center, mission-critical, or complex infrastructure projects
    • Strong understanding of data center systems including electrical, mechanical, ICT, and HVAC infrastructure
    • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and client relationships across full project lifecycles
    • Familiarity with BIM/VDC environments and coordination tools such as Revit, BIM 360/ACC, Revizto, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project
    • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
    • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments
    • Professional designation such as P.Eng, PE, Registered Architect, or PMP certification is an asset
    • Eligibility to work in Canada required
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive compensation package aligned with experience
      • Fully remote work flexibility across Canada
      • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and disability coverage
      • Life insurance and retirement savings plan with employer participation
      • Paid time off and supportive work-life balance policies
      • Stock ownership or synthetic equity opportunities
      • Career development and training support in a high-growth technical sector
      • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge hyperscale and enterprise data center projects
      • Exposure to advanced digital tools including BIM, VDC, and digital twin technologies
