We collaborate with the editorial, photography, video, product, technology and events teams to tell holistic stories that add value to our audience's everyday lives. The ideal candidate is a quick learner and conceptual thinker with a passion for journalism and storytelling.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the editorial, photo, video, social, product and tech teams to determine the best approach to storytelling across all Forbes’ digital platforms.
- An image maker at heart, the ideal candidate has an aptitude for graphic creation, illustration and photo collage with the ability to create art independently for daily feature stories.
- Concept and art direct illustrations and animations with outside illustrators.
- Proactively contribute creative ideas during brainstorms with photo and design team
- Design data visualizations based on reporting and research.
- Design feature stories within our custom CMS.
- Knowledge of what works best to promote stories on social media platforms.
- Ensure a consistent visual style across all platforms that aligns with Forbes’ Brand Guidelines.
Requirements:
- BA/BFA in Design with 2+ years of digital design experience, preferably at a media or editorial publishing company.
- Process rooted in strong conceptual thinking with a sophisticated sense of digital design, composition and typography.
- Fluent in the full Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Zeplin and Sketch. Knowledge of Adobe After Effects is preferred.
- Have a solid understanding of user experience with the ability to take designs from wireframes to final QA published pages.
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, breaking news environment under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills. Designers need to be able to clearly and concisely express themselves and explain their ideas.
- You enjoy staying current on design trends and industry technology, sharing findings with the department to facilitate new ways of thinking, working and problem solving.
- A portfolio that demonstrates an eye for storytelling, excellent taste, a passion for design and a keen sense of what will perform well on different digital platforms.

The annual base salary range for this role is $60,000 - $60,000
Forbes has estimated the compensation range set forth above in good faith. The compensation range is what we believe we will offer, and ultimately pay, a successful candidate. In determining this range, we consider the experience, level of education (if applicable to the role), knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be had by a successful candidate as well as the budget and the company’s pay rates, generally.
