Director, Axios Bootcamp

We’re hiring a program director to help us expand a training program to indoctrinate our Smart Brevity style and Axios’ standard of excellence into the newsroom.

Go deeper: The Director, Axios Bootcamp will have the following responsibilities: 

• Develop and refine the strategic priorities for this new skills program, including experiential learning curriculum, stakeholder engagement, and ongoing learning evaluation 
• Serve as a strategic partner to our editorial leaders regarding learning needs, development opportunities, and upholding our standards across the newsroom 
• Over time, lead a small team to support the growth of the program to scale alongside the company
• Design and deliver engaging training sessions that result in the observable adoption of our Smart Brevity style and Axios’ standard of excellence
• Serve as a Smart Brevity evangelist and identify opportunities to strengthen its use across Axios to drive more effective communication and engagement

• Proven journalism and editing experience in a deadline-driven environment, allowing you to provide real-time feedback to journalists as they sharpen their skills
• Demonstrated facilitation expertise to engage employees in both virtual, in-person, and blended learning environments
• Exceptional writing and editing skills in a news environment
