Accountabilities:

  • Lead cloud cost optimization programs, implementing initiatives like reserved commitments, right-sizing, idle resource elimination, and chargeback models
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to integrate cost visibility into operations through dashboards, KPIs, and reporting
  • Establish governance and controls around cloud spend, including tagging standards, approval workflows, and contract reviews
  • Provide executive reporting and insights on cost trends, savings progress, risk of overruns, and trade-offs between cost, performance, and growth
  • Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing FinOps team, setting strategy and measuring effectiveness across the organization
  • Support major initiatives such as M&A, product launches, and cloud migrations by modeling financial impact and forecasting scenarios
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering required; advanced degrees preferred
    • 10–15 years of experience in cloud financial management, cost optimization, or technology finance; 5+ years in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams
    • Proven experience establishing and maturing FinOps practices, including governance, cost-allocation, showback/chargeback, and optimization programs
    • Deep knowledge of public-cloud pricing and billing models (AWS, Azure, GCP) with experience optimizing reserved instances and savings plans
    • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting skills, connecting cloud spend to business metrics and unit economics
    • Expertise in cloud-cost management tools and automation initiatives, including tagging enforcement, anomaly detection, and real-time spend governance
    • Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, communication, and cross-functional influence skills
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive base salary and variable compensation based on experience
      • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
      • Retirement savings plan with 401(k)
      • Paid vacation and holidays
      • Professional development and training opportunities
      • Remote work flexibility and collaborative environment
