The Director, Field Sales Engineering will lead a specialist team focused on incubating and scaling emerging solutions, translating early-stage capabilities into clear customer value. The role partners closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to accelerate adoption and ensure seamless go-to-market execution. It combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical depth, engaging directly in high-impact enterprise and executive customer conversations. Accountabilities:

Lead and scale a New Product Sales Engineering organization, defining operating models, success metrics, and scalable processes for product incubation and adoption. Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of specialist Sales Engineers, ensuring strong technical capability, career growth, and inclusive leadership practices. Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to shape go-to-market strategies, technical positioning, and field enablement for new offerings. Drive executive-level customer engagements, acting as a technical advisor and sponsor for strategic opportunities while guiding solution architecture and proof-of-value initiatives. Develop repeatable technical sales frameworks, playbooks, and adoption strategies that enable smooth transition from incubation to broader field deployment. Establish strong feedback loops between customers, field teams, and product organizations to influence roadmap decisions and improve product-market fit.

Requirements:
7+ years of experience leading technical teams, ideally within Sales Engineering, cloud, IoT, or enterprise software environments, with a proven record of building and scaling organizations. Strong background in engineering or related technical discipline, with ability to engage deeply in architecture, integrations, and deployment strategies. Demonstrated success in hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing technical talent in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments. Experience collaborating across Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to drive end-to-end go-to-market execution. Strong ability to define scalable processes, implement performance metrics, and manage organizational effectiveness in complex sales cycles. Deep understanding of cloud-based architectures and connected systems, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with comfort engaging both executive stakeholders and technical teams. Experience working in evolving or ambiguous environments, with a track record of launching and scaling new solutions.
