Headway is building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access. We make it easy for people to find quality in-network mental health care by removing historic barriers faced by mental health providers, payers, and patients.Â
1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but the vast majority do not get the care they need. The primary reason is cost: the majority of therapists do not accept insurance, meaning paying for therapy is prohibitively expensive for prospective patients. This is where we got our start – Headway has built the first software-enabled network of therapists who accept health insurance, making it easy for therapists to grow their practices, and possible for patients to find quality care they can afford.Â
We launched in April of 2019 and are now powering 300,000+ appointments per month. To scale our vision, we’ve raised over $100 million in funding from a16z, Thrive, Accel, and Google Ventures.

About The Role
Headway is growing fast, and we’re looking for our first FP&A leader! Reporting directly to the Head of Strategic Finance, you will build our FP&A function and manage a team to support our rapid scale. From planning and owning Headway’s operating model to providing insight into business performance through robust financial analysis and reporting, you’ll set Headway up for success as we continue to scale rapidly this year. As a conduit to the executive team and board, you’ll directly help shape strategic growth initiatives and drive ongoing forecasting visibility as we embark on a period of hypergrowth.Â
You will:Â
- Build, improve and and maintain the company model, linking key actions and inputs to company growth and profitability
- Establish and drive ongoing budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with other teams to ensure resource allocation ties to the company’s strategic goals
- Perform analysis on financial results and operating KPIs, identifying underlying trends and areas of opportunity
- Develop management reporting cadence to deliver key insights to senior leadership and board
- Support M&A and other corporate development initiatives
- Hire and develop a high-performing FP&A team to support the needs of the business
You’d be a great fit if...
- You have 7+ years of strategic finance (FP&A) experience, ideally in a mix of professional services (consulting, banking, investing) and high-growth startup financeÂ
