Collins Aerospace is looking for a I4.0 Automation strategy Director who will be part of the Advanced Structures (AS) Operations team and work with other functions and business units (BU) on initiatives related to driving our Industry 4.0 and Automation roadmap. The role is highly cross-functional and collaborative
The role requires strong focus on the strategy and organization of Industry 4.0 and automation initiatives to drive production efficiencies, data collection & analysis, and provide a foundation for future technologies and growth. The ideal candidate will shape the process to be used for strategic implementation of Industry 4.0 initiatives with input from current projects, Functional leaders, and more than 50 sites. The candidate will apply sound project planning methodology to ensure implementations are on-time, on-budget, and achieve agreed-upon benefits/returns-on-investment. The role requires direct interaction with various business stakeholders, Central Ops and Digital Technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Help to drive alignment, governance, and prioritization of key I4.0 initiatives within Advanced Structures
- Define end to end Industry 4.0 Automation integrated roadmap
- Develop and drive short and long-term strategy and implementation prioritization of I4.0 and Automation technologies in partnership with business functions, value streams and corporate
- Provide functional governance and strategically organize and communicate initiatives projects, use cases and business objectives with focus on ROI.
- Help drive maturity of Industry 4.0 organization via the CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) Operating System
- Promote the usage of appropriate Project Management and Lean Product Development tools to support cost-effective implementation of technical solutions.
- Run cross functional COP and help solve complex tech problems as prioritized by COP
- Track record of maintaining positive long-term business relationships.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and written at all levels. Both internally and externally.
- Bachelor's degree and 14 years of prior relevant experience OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience is required
- Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in implementation of Industry 4.0 initiatives (digital technology, automation, and/or advanced manufacturing)
- Experience with Aerospace Manufacturing & Automation processes (Manufacturing, Machining, Assembly, etc.).
- Demonstrated skills - leadership, strategy, collaboration, and team building.
- Experience in the development of project plans using Microsoft Project; including schedule, budget and resource planning. Evaluation of technical options against schedule and budgetary constraints.
- Experience in developing Robotic/automated solutions and programming.
- Experience with material system development to improve automated capabilities.
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and program/project management tools.
- Proven track record of financial management (P&L, CAPEX, SFP).
- Critical Competencies: Project Focus, Drive for Results, Technical Skills, Interpersonal Leadership Skills, Commitment to Continuous Improvement, Effective Teamwork.
- Travel will be required to meet with internal customers, automated solution providers, attend technical conferences / trade shows to evaluate material processing advancements, and customer facilities for meetings and manufacturing reviews.
- Clear executive presence with ability to accurately and effectively communicate and present to Management and Executive Leadership.
- Demonstrated history of utilizing and implementing Six Sigma and lean processes/activities.
- Effectively interface between technical teams and business stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
