Team: Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) based in India.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead initiatives that strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) capabilities across a global network of mission-driven organizations. In this strategic and collaborative role, you will help partners build sustainable systems to measure impact, improve program effectiveness, and generate meaningful insights that support long-term educational outcomes. Working in a fully remote, international environment, you will provide technical guidance, facilitate capacity-building initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance evidence-based decision-making. This role is ideal for an experienced MEL professional who is passionate about data-driven impact, global collaboration, and empowering organizations to create lasting social change.

Accountabilities

  • Lead consulting engagements with partner organizations to strengthen their monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems, focusing on sustainable capacity building and measurable program impact.
  • Support the implementation and adaptation of impact measurement frameworks, tools, and data systems covering participant, alumni, student, and program outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional experts to enhance program design, measurement approaches, and organizational learning across partner organizations.
  • Design and facilitate learning experiences, workshops, and communities of practice that promote strong MEL capabilities and continuous improvement.
  • Develop practical guidance, resources, and knowledge products that help partners strengthen their evaluation practices and data-driven decision-making.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, team reflection, diagnostic exercises, and continuous improvement initiatives within the global MEL function.
  • Analyze complex data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable recommendations that improve program quality and organizational effectiveness.
  • Travel internationally to provide hands-on technical support, assess organizational capacity, and develop tailored action plans for sustainable MEL improvements.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree with 5–10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3–6 years of experience in Public Policy, Business Administration, International Development, Public Affairs, Data Science, or a related analytical discipline.
    • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, managing, or adapting monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems, ideally within education, international development, or nonprofit sectors.
    • Proven consulting experience supporting nonprofit organizations or mission-driven institutions with organizational improvement and impact measurement.
    • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting complex datasets, developing diagnostic frameworks, and communicating evidence-based insights.
    • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including technical writing, stakeholder engagement, and cross-cultural collaboration.
    • Ability to work effectively across diverse international teams while managing multiple priorities in a remote environment.
    • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 30% of the time and collaborate across multiple time zones.
    • Professional fluency in French and/or Arabic is considered an asset.
    • Previous experience with education-focused organizations, international NGOs, or leadership development programs is advantageous.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive salary based on country of residence and professional experience.
      • Comprehensive benefits package supporting health, well-being, and work-life balance.
      • Flexible remote work arrangement based in South Africa.
      • Generous paid time off and flexible working practices.
      • Ongoing professional development opportunities and access to global learning experiences.
      • Opportunity to collaborate with international teams and contribute to meaningful global education initiatives.
      • International travel opportunities to work directly with partner organizations.
