Job description

Team: Product

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director, Mothers & Babies in the United Kingdom.

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on shaping and scaling a transformative “Mothers & Babies” program designed to improve maternal and newborn outcomes through direct cash transfers. You will define product strategy, lead cross-functional execution, and build scalable delivery models across multiple countries and partners. Operating at the intersection of product, programs, research, and fundraising, you will translate evidence into action while ensuring a dignified and effective recipient experience. This role requires strong systems thinking, entrepreneurial leadership, and the ability to operate in complex, fast-changing environments. You will also play a key role in shaping donor engagement and building a compelling case for large-scale funding. It is a unique opportunity to directly influence global health outcomes and the future of cash-based interventions in development.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will define and lead the end-to-end strategy, execution, and scaling of the Mothers & Babies product while coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners.

  • Own the product vision, multi-year strategy, and roadmap, translating it into clear milestones, hypotheses, and decision frameworks.
  • Design and refine the program model, including transfer design, enrollment, delivery mechanisms, and recipient experience with a strong focus on dignity and safeguarding.
  • Lead cross-functional execution across product, programs, research, partnerships, and technology teams to ensure effective delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Build scalable operating and partnership models, defining responsibilities, incentives, and data flows between internal teams and external partners.
  • Drive the learning agenda by defining key metrics, evaluating impact, and translating evidence into actionable product and strategic decisions.
  • Support fundraising and go-to-market efforts by shaping product positioning, donor narratives, and evidence-based materials for scale.
  • Lead execution without formal authority, ensuring alignment across global stakeholders and maintaining high standards of accountability and performance.
  • Requirements

The ideal candidate is a highly entrepreneurial, mission-driven leader with deep experience across product, program delivery, or partnerships in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

    • 8+ years of experience in product management, program leadership, partnerships, or business development in global health, development, or similar fields.
    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex initiatives in distributed, multicultural environments.
    • Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to move between strategic vision and detailed operational execution.
    • Experience working on technology-enabled programs or data-driven product development, ideally in health, humanitarian, or development contexts.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and drive decisions in fast-changing environments.
    • Passion for social impact and strong alignment with recipient-centered design, safeguarding, and ethical program delivery.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and location
      • Fully remote working model with international collaboration
      • Flexible working arrangements and generous paid time off
      • Annual learning and development budget for professional growth
      • Opportunities to travel to program sites and engage directly with field operations
      • High ownership role with direct impact on global health outcomes
      • Exposure to cross-functional work across product, research, and fundraising teams
      • Inclusive, mission-driven culture focused on impact, autonomy, and continuous learning
