Overview

The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for the business development of several major corporate customers, analyzing current and potential national account business. They must be able to make recommendations to senior account management that drive the customer's beverage business while benefiting SGWS and key suppliers. Directors must also demonstrate their proven track record of business opportunity development, maintaining top-to-top account relationships, and creating, presenting and selling-in value-added beverage marketing programs and initiatives. Management of National Accounts includes but is not limited to account planning, generating action plans to leverage SGWS capabilities (mixology, category management, EDI, compliance tracking, broken case reports, etc.), profitability awareness, future and current opportunity tracking for increased share of sales, distribution decisions and identifying purchasing patterns. The National Account Director must also provide timely, accurate and complete program information, monitor inventories with operations team, verify pricing, drive compliance, and provide superior customer service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The National Account Director is responsible for national and regional accounts on premise.
  • Headquarter calls, including business development and business maintenance.
  • Developing, implementing, and analyzing brand development programs to drive chain business.
  • Distributor management (as it relates to national accounts on premise)
  • Forecasting, budgeting, pricing, and programming management
  • Collaborating effectively with Shaw Ross management team.
  • Gives updates to VP National Account & Shaw-Ross management team.
  • Must have industry experience selling both wines and spirits - preferably someone who has experience in chain area management.
  • Must have current account equity, a proven record, and current relationships with national accounts on & on premise so they can "hit the ground running".
  • The ability to manage national accounts as their primary or sole responsibility.
  • Must understand the inner-workings of national accounts and what brands within the Shaw-Ross portfolio will collaborate well with which customers.
  • Flexible, entrepreneurial mind set but also has good discipline and can help institute best practices. Shaw Ross international importers LLC would strongly prefer candidates who have experience and discipline working in a larger, structured setting and are looking for a more flexible, dynamic working environment.
  • Work independently but is also able to collaborate well with other managers.

Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Extremely open minded, able to try innovative approaches and learn new ways to build business -- the ability to manage the three-tier system but also outside.
  • Well organized and buttoned down, able to manage a long sales cycle and to see the big picture.
  • A bility to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with customers and internally.
  • Strong capabilities in reporting business analysis, profitability, etc.
  • Preferred Credentials : SAP familiarity, WSET accreditation and any equivalent wine/spirit/sake accreditations, DIVER Reporting System
  • Job Location: Southeast/Southwest area, US

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
  • Advance computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Products-Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook
  • Must have experience with fact-based selling (using IRI/Nielson Data)
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • 5 to 8 years of experience related to the industry -may be working for a winery, a wine marketing company, or a wine importer.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Wine and Spirits to include regions/varietals, product/food paring techniques, basic production, and service.
  • Strong and established relationships in the states of the US
  • Lift carries a 45+ pound case of product.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Goal oriented, focused, and assertive individual who needs little direction or supervision.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and current insurance.
  • Must carry auto insurance, $100,000/$300,000 in vehicle liability and $50,000 in property damage and be listed.

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
