POSITION TITLE: Director, National Grantwriting

LOCATION: Remote

REPORTS TO: VP, National Accounts


Salary Range to be posted: Salary range of 90-110K, commensurate with experience and geographic location


OVERVIEW:

Per Scholas is seeking an accomplished grantwriter with a track record of securing 6- figure gifts to become a member of the national development team, playing a key role in a talented, high-functioning team raising more than $26M annually. The role will specialize in grantwriting and organizational storytelling for a diverse national funding portfolio, including researching, analyzing, and synthesizing diverse internal and external data sources to build a compelling case for support at an organization-wide level and across Per Scholas campuses.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead on research and development of concepts and funding proposals to be submitted to major corporate, foundation, and individual investors, including collaborating with program staff across Per Scholas to develop and accurately portray program design and outcomes, including relevant logic models, and assembling required documentation and budgets in collaboration with Development, National Expansion, and Program teams.
  • Ensure timely and compelling stewardship reporting to donors in the national portfolio, in collaboration with external-facing Account Managers, including coordinating collection and collation of data from colleagues from local campuses, corporate engagement, business solutions, communications, the National Board and Advisory Board, and other stakeholders as the relationship may require.
  • Contribute to prospect research (with donor outreach managed by Account Managers).
  • Research and analyze both internal and external sources of data (on the tech industry, employment and labor data, demographics, workforce development/training, etc.), effectively incorporating this information into written deliverables.
  • Synthesize national program information from program staff and Salesforce database to articulate goals, activities, anticipated outcomes, successes, challenges, etc. to funders for national initiatives.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for specific programming within Per Scholas and proactively disseminates relevant information to the development team.
  • Keep up to date on industry trends that may be relevant to Per Scholas and keep the national grants team informed.
  • Prepare slide decks, one-pagers, and other collateral as needed.
  • Contribute to accurate and up-to-date development record keeping in Salesforce and other development systems, particularly tracking of funder deliverables. 
  • Although this is primarily designed as an internal-facing role, this individual may attend some funder meetings and site visits as a representative and ambassador of Per Scholas as necessitate by specific assignments and as desired.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT:

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching and training to the Senior Grantwriter, National Accounts.
  • Mentor other grantwriters across the development team (who report into Regional Development Leads).

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US:


Professional Requirements

  • 7-9 years of grantwriting experience, including knowledge of program design and outcomes
  • 1-2 years of management experience
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and copy editing skills
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proven research abilities, including gathering and interpreting data
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with program evaluation and design
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Google Suite for Business (Docs, Drive, Gmail, Calendar, etc.)

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.
