About the opportunity
Ontra is seeking a Director of Data reporting to our Chief Product Officer. This person will manage a team of analysts and scientists and be responsible for overseeing all aspects of data within the organization, including data analysis, data strategy, and data-driven decision making. The role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about leveraging data to drive business growth and success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of using data to inform decision making and improve business outcomes.

What you'll do

• Lead: Manage a team of Data Analysts and Scientists, being responsible for their career advancement at Ontra
• Stakeholder Management: Partner with organizational leaders to understand business needs
• Inform: Use data insights to drive business decisions and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Enable : Build a robust data platform enabling decision making for departments across the organization
• Continuous learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data analytics and recommend solutions to enhance Ontra's data capabilities.

What you'll bring

• Data Experience : 10+ years in data analysis/science with 3+ years building and managing teams, preferably at high growth companies
• Visualization expertise : proficiency in Looker, Tableau, Mixpanel, and Segment
• Programming expertise : A strong background using SQL and Python to manipulate and analyze data
• Communication skills : the ability to articulate complex data concepts and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Attention to detail: the ability to ensure data accuracy and reliability in all analyses across your teams

Ontra publishes salary ranges on our salary board here: https://bit.ly/3UjAOE3, which currently includes estimated annual cash salary ranges for candidates based in Colorado and New York City, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Ontra leverages current market data to determine compensation, so posted figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available.
Ontra factors in your location when benchmarking compensation for most roles. If you are not located in Colorado or New York City and have been selected to participate in our interview process, we encourage you to speak with your recruiter about compensation for the role during an initial conversation.
In addition to cash salary, the total compensation package Ontra offers includes unit-based compensation (if applicable). Certain roles in our sales and account management departments may also be eligible to receive variable compensation or commission.
