The Director of Marketing will have global responsibility to enable Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) double digit growth over the Collins Aerospace Long Range Plan (LRP). The Director will lead an organization of 25+ which will include the current CAS Marketing organization and the integration of the FlightAware Marketing team. The leadership role will have budgetary responsibility that includes, but is not limited to: staffing, creative, digital, ad placement, tradeshows, events, sponsorships, consulting and other industry events to promote and establish the Connected Aviation Solutions brand.

The Director of Marketing leader will enable the re-imagining of the CAS marketing team into a dedicated organizational structure designed to accelerate the CAS brand and unleash the full potential of the newly formed business over the long-range plan. The areas of re-imagining are as follows:
  • Strategic Marketing: Strategic Marketing includes leading a team of subject matter experts focusing on the overall segment including competitive trends, market size, technologies, disruptors in the OEM, operator, airports, and digital aviation ecosystem. This team will work closely with the Program, Product and Sales teams in addition to customers.
  • Product Marketing: Product Marketing organization encompasses market sizing, competitive assessment, product launch, pricing strategies, print, social and media campaigns and ancillary collateral in support of the SBU VSL's that enable Sales. This also includes customer communication plans and feedback. This team will work closely with the Product, Program and Sales teams along with Marketing Experience.
  • Marketing Experience: Marketing Experience organization encompasses enablement of the product launch. This team will work website, webinar, social, digital and data visualization, and support focus groups and trials. This role will work closely with the central Communications team to align with a One Collins story. This includes content, internal and external websites, creative management, presentations, and collateral
  • Marketing Operations: Marketing Operations includes event planning, tradeshow readiness, speaking engagements, voice of customer feedback, web traffic, analytics and other key KPI's to manage the team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Take responsibility for annual marketing plan, strategy, and team
  • Identify and plan differentiated and impactful marketing strategies/materials
  • Build, manage and coach a high-performing marketing team
  • Drive the implementation of marketing campaigns that meet business objectives and drive leads
  • Direct and support market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data for short- and long-term market forecasts and reports
  • Work closely with the sales department to align sales and marketing strategies
  • Manage marketing budget and expenditures
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels
  • Identify competitors and evaluate their strategies and positioning and devise counterstrategies
  • Build long term relationships with employees, clients, government officials and stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:
  • A University degree or equivalent experience a minimum 14 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 12 years' experience.
  • Leadership of a team or organization focused on developing and growing employees while driving results.
  • Experience focused on growing audiences for products and services to include:
    • Development of marketing plans while working closely with clients, management, creative and content teams
    • Strategic and tactical execution of marketing campaigns, product concepts, reporting, analysis, and recommendations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MA degree (preferred) in Marketing, Communication, or similar relevant field
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • In depth knowledge of market research

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
