Team: Design

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Product Design, Commerce based in the United States.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and scaling the end-to-end design strategy across commerce, membership, and digital purchase experiences. You will shape how millions of users interact with a global eCommerce ecosystem spanning direct-to-consumer, B2B, and subscription journeys. The role combines strategic vision with hands-on design leadership, ensuring seamless, high-impact user experiences that directly drive revenue growth. You will lead and elevate a distributed product design organization, fostering design excellence, innovation, and operational rigor. Partnering closely with product, engineering, marketing, and partnerships teams, you will influence key business decisions and long-term product direction. This is a highly visible role where design is a core driver of business performance, customer trust, and product differentiation.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design vision across commerce, membership, and digital ecosystem experiences, ensuring alignment between user needs and business objectives.
  • Partner with product and executive leadership to define strategy, prioritize initiatives, and shape the future of global eCommerce and subscription experiences.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing product design organization, fostering a culture of craft excellence, innovation, and accountability.
  • Establish design systems, policies, and scalable processes that support consistency, efficiency, and global product expansion.
  • Drive experimentation and optimization through A/B testing, user research, and data-informed design decisions (qualitative and quantitative insights).
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, marketing, partnerships, and operations to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences.
  • Champion innovation in emerging technologies, including AI-driven, contextual, and personalized interaction models.
  • Requirements

    • 10+ years of leadership experience in product design (UX/UI), ideally within global, consumer-facing digital or eCommerce organizations.
    • Proven experience designing and scaling high-traffic eCommerce or DTC platforms with international reach.
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in UX and UI design, with measurable impact at scale.
    • Deep expertise in design strategy, systems thinking, and enterprise-level design operations.
    • Strong ability to leverage user research and data (quantitative and qualitative) to inform product decisions and optimization.
    • Experience leading distributed, cross-cultural design teams across multiple geographies.
    • Exceptional executive communication, storytelling, and stakeholder influence skills.
    • Hands-on expertise with Figma, prototyping tools, and modern design systems.
    • Solid understanding of responsive web design and core web technologies.
    • Experience designing AI-enabled, personalized, or adaptive digital experiences is highly desirable.
    • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and deliver in fast-paced environments.
