About the Role
Udemy is looking for a highly cross-functional product leader who will oversee the product strategy and execution of a number of internal platforms across Udemy's marketplace and subscription products. You will drive Udemy's product strategy and execution, translating user needs and opportunities into a compelling roadmap while working cross-functionally to deliver an API Platform and Content Tools while safeguarding and protecting Udemy's data . You'll work directly with product managers, engineers, architects, designers, and data scientists, as well as with our business content teams and security teams to ship great products. You'll take part in every type of product work here - from strategy to product to process improvements - conceptualizing, launching, and iterating on Udemy's internal platforms, which enable us to distribute and safeguard our content through various APIs. Key to this role is the ability to design and build automated subsystems and identify opportunities to create automated processes to solve immediate business challenges.
The ideal candidate is personable, collaborative, and flexible, with the drive to manage complex internal products across multiple stakeholder groups. We are seeking a combination of strong technical vision, strategic leverage, team leadership, and high-velocity execution.
Here's what you'll be doing:
  • You will be working with engineers, architects, and data platform teams to help reach their end users: learners, instructors, and organizations
    Build and lead the strategy, prioritization, and execution of multiple internal platform, creating a robust FE and BE collection management solution and API Platform
  • Manage the performance of a global team of product managers (USA, Dublin Ireland, and Istanbul Turkey), including providing regular feedback, holding recurring 1:1's, writing performance reviews, determining compensation, making promotion decisions, evaluating team against the PM growth ladder, leveling up the skill set of your PMs, helping PMs set career goals, coaching through difficult situations, providing honest critical feedback
  • Collaborate with engineering and architectural teams throughout the development process to deliver new features and capabilities
  • Define, monitor, and measure key metrics and KPIs; incorporate learnings into product definition and development process
  • Influence executives and team members alike to direct the course of our technical solutions
  • Ensure business objectives are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of product activities through monitoring and measurement of KPIs

We're excited about you because you have:
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with an emphasis on internal tools and platforms, APIs, and scaling business growth through these means
  • 3+ years of people management experience; building, coaching, and leading high performing product teams
  • Influence; you're good at inspiring and leading teams. You take the time to really understand individuals' interests and sources of motivation
  • A bias for action, who is able to move projects forward and lead global teams toward product solutions
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including demonstrated ability to use data analysis and A/B testing in order to improve the customer experience
  • Passion about the education space and the problems we are solving
  • Experience collaborating with local and remote Product and Engineering teams (Turkey, United States, Ireland)
  • Bonus points for experience with delivering products for two-sided marketplaces/platforms
