This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Operations | Poppy & Peonies based in the United States.

This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for building and scaling the end-to-end backbone of a fast-growing, multi-channel consumer brand.
You will oversee supply chain, logistics, inventory management, and fulfillment strategy across North America, ensuring products move efficiently from suppliers to customers.
The role sits at the intersection of operations, finance, and commercial strategy, translating growth plans into scalable execution.
You will play a critical part in expanding U.S. operations, strengthening 3PL partnerships, and optimizing cross-border fulfillment processes.
This is a highly hands-on position requiring both strategic thinking and operational execution in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to improve systems, reduce friction, and ensure a seamless customer experience.

Accountabilities

  • Lead end-to-end operations strategy across supply chain, logistics, inventory, and fulfillment across Canada and the U.S.
  • Manage inbound logistics from suppliers to 3PLs, optimizing freight, cost efficiency, and transportation performance.
  • Own relationships and performance management of 3PL partners, including SLA tracking, business reviews, and issue resolution.
  • Drive forecasting, peak planning, and capacity readiness to ensure seamless execution during high-demand periods.
  • Build and maintain operational KPIs and dashboards, providing clear performance insights to leadership.
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, freight cost analysis, and cost-to-serve optimization initiatives.
  • Develop scalable operational systems, SOPs, and processes to support growth and new channel expansion (including DTC and emerging platforms).
  • Lead root-cause analysis for fulfillment issues and implement corrective actions to improve speed, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Support and grow the operations team, fostering structure, accountability, and performance excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Growth teams on launches, demand planning, and expansion initiatives.

  • Requirements

    • 7–10+ years of experience in eCommerce, DTC operations, logistics, supply chain, or fulfillment roles, including senior leadership exposure.
    • Proven experience managing 3PL partners and multi-node fulfillment networks at scale.
    • Strong understanding of supply chain operations, including forecasting, inventory planning, and fulfillment optimization.
    • Experience working with OMS/WMS systems and strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional operational initiatives that improve cost, speed, and accuracy.
    • Experience in peak-season planning, including forecasting demand, staffing, and carrier capacity management.
    • Strong business acumen with the ability to partner effectively with Finance, Product, and Marketing teams.
    • Experience with cross-border operations (U.S./Canada) is highly valued; customs and import knowledge is a plus.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, execution-focused mindset.
    • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, scaling environments with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
