WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE

Zuora seeks a director of engineering in performance, in this role you will support our diverse infrastructure, platform and applications that serve Zuora customers to scale their business within the cloud. You will play an instrumental role in driving Zuora’s roadmap to deliver cost-effective systems. You will contribute knowledge in areas including the design of experiments, data analysis and visualization, end-to-end performance analysis and debugging for single-node systems and distributed systems.

• Lead the key customer engagements to get on top of their business needs on performance and scalability and coordinate with products and engineering on performance roadmap.
• Lead a team of performance engineers on system benchmarking, performance profiling, analysis and tuning for both customer requirements and internal initiatives.
• Build and manage the infrastructure, tools and automation for highly efficient performance engineering. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• BS/MS degree in computer science or related field 
• Skilled in the art and science of modeling of a system under load, identifying the correct benchmarks to represent it, and measuring the results
• Hands on experience in software performance benchmarking tools (e.g. JMeter, Locust.io)
• Hands on experience in profiling tools like JProfiler, and APM tools
• A generalist with deep technical understanding of software, hardware, networking and cloud technologies, who enjoys taking a holistic view of complex systems.
