Pine Gate Renewables (PGR) is seeking a Director of Security Operations to lead and develop PGR’s physical security program. Director, Security Operations will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Operations & Grid Integration and will both lead and support security strategy for all PGR sites across the United States.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead all aspects of the company's physical security and emergency preparedness functions.
  • Develop corporate-wide physical security program for all PGR facilities including headquarters, office locations, generating locations, substations, warehouses, and construction sites.
  • Set company security policies and directs assessment of physical security needs.
  • Develop and provide physical security plans for all PGR locations including design and implementation of physical security access controls systems.
  • Provide employees, on-site contractors, consultants, and visitors a safe work environment.
  • Implement program to deal with theft and intrusion by unauthorized visitors into PGR properties and facilities.
  • Mitigate threats to people, property, or information vital to PGR’s operation and assets working in conjunction with Cyber Security.
  • Brief Executive Leadership of threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and establish, implement an Insider Threat/Active Shooter program and related policies at all company locations.
  • Respond to incidents at company asset locations, conduct investigation and provide incident reports as needed.
  • Support Reliability, Security and Operational Compliance team with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards and compliance, including but not limited to critical infrastructure protection (CIP), security, all other applicable requirements.
  • Develop and maintains good working relationship with leadership from law enforcement. agencies and organizations such as Department of Energy (DOE), Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA), NERC, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and various Local and Federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintain a proactive and positive working relationship with field contractor leadership.
  • Reconcile any differences in company and contractor requirements with respect Physical Security and training needs.
  • Serve on internal and external committees, task forces, and working groups, as necessary.
  • Coach, mentor, train, develop, motivate, and supervise staff concerning Physical Security policies and procedures.
Must-Haves
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electric industry (distribution and transmission voltage facilities).
  • Extensive knowledge of the NERC Reliability Standards, including CIP and security.
  • Knowledge of NERC regulations, standards, and requirements related to physical and electronic security.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross-functional environment.
  • Experience managing dynamic workflow and multiple projects.
  • Excellent written, spoken, and presentation communication skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable agility; ability to reorder critical analysis projects based on new commercial requirements, under tight deadlines and sometimes changing requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of cross functional stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Ability to provide leadership in emergency situations.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Previous military or law enforcement experience.
  • Relationships with federal enforcement agencies and organizations.
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, management, or similar discipline.
Working Environment and Physical Demand
  • May require lifting/carrying items up to 30 pounds.
  • Travel up to 25-50%.
  • Position works in an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk and utilize a computer, for extended periods of time.
