Job Description

Team: Project Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Strategy and Operations based in Canada.

This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of strategy, execution, and organizational scale. You will work closely with executive leadership to drive the company’s most critical initiatives, including M&A, strategic planning, and operational transformation. The role blends analytical rigor with hands-on execution, ensuring that priorities are clearly defined, tracked, and delivered across the organization. You will act as a key connector between leadership and functional teams, bringing structure to complex, cross-functional work. The environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and built for someone who thrives in ambiguity while maintaining operational discipline. This position plays a central role in strengthening execution maturity and long-term enterprise value. It is ideal for a strategic operator who can translate vision into measurable outcomes.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will drive strategic execution, operational rigor, and cross-functional alignment across the organization’s most important initiatives.

  • Lead end-to-end M&A activities, including diligence coordination, integration planning, milestone tracking, and post-close execution
  • Serve as a key liaison between deal teams and internal functions such as Finance, Legal, People, and Product
  • Run annual and quarterly strategic planning cycles, structuring analysis and translating decisions into actionable operating plans
  • Track execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring accountability, visibility, and timely escalation of risks or misalignment
  • Develop and maintain the company’s value-creation roadmap, ensuring consistent progress across functions
  • Evaluate and prioritize strategic initiatives through business case development and financial analysis
  • Drive cross-functional execution of top company priorities with clear ownership, milestones, and follow-through
  • Lead leadership operating cadences, turning meetings into structured decision-making forums
  • Strengthen reporting discipline, KPI tracking, and operational processes to improve organizational maturity

  • Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and execution-oriented operator with experience spanning strategy, corporate development, and hands-on business execution in high-growth environments.

    • Experience in consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or strategic operations, combined with operational execution experience
    • Strong program management skills with the ability to structure ambiguity and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
    • Solid commercial and financial acumen, including SaaS metrics, unit economics, and business case development
    • Experience in M&A, including diligence, integration planning, or post-merger execution
    • Ability to build executive-level materials and communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
    • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive accountability
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure in fast-moving environments
    • Discreet and trusted with sensitive strategic and financial information
    • Familiarity with PE-backed or high-growth SaaS environments is a strong advantage
    • Comfortable leveraging AI tools and modern workflows to improve speed and decision-making

    • Benefits:

      • Competitive base salary with bonus potential
      • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage (including full employer-paid premiums for employees and partial coverage for dependents)
      • Remote-friendly work environment with flexibility
      • Immediate access to 401(k) with company match
      • Generous PTO policy with a minimum annual vacation requirement
      • Paid parental leave (12 weeks for birthing parents, 6 weeks for partners)
      • Learning and development budget to support continuous growth
      • Strong, collaborative company culture focused on performance and improvement
      • Dedicated management support focused on career development
