Your role

As a Full-Stack Developer, you will be responsible for developing new and supporting/enhancing the existing Web and Windows applications (non-cloud, C#, ASP, .net core, vb .net, SQL server, etc.), and also migrate them (where possible) to Microsoft Azure cloud technologies within DevOps environment. The individual must appreciate a team environment, have sense of ownership, accountability and possess the initiative to work with a minimum amount of supervision. 

Responsibilities

• Support and develop Web and Windows applications, webservices and APIs and also migrate them (where possible) from older ASP and .net platforms to current .net CORE or cloud technologies on Microsoft Azure.
• Interact with both internal and external customers/partners to establish and meet their applications system development needs.
• Assist in the identification, evaluation, selection, implementation and extension of package applications, SW libraries, application toolkits and full software life cycle tools.
• Self-starter with the ability to work closely with the functional departments, and comfortable taking ownership of the work in an agile environment.
• Perform on-call application support as necessary.
• Attend and participate in work activities with the business and IT team in North America for at-least 4 hours per day (around 9 AM EST to 1 PM EST)
• Ciena is flexible in allowing work from home during extended support hours.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Full Stack .Net development experience with good skills in front-end, middle tier and back-end development using C#, ASP, Python, .net Core, vb .net, Angular, HTML, Javascript, Microsoft SQL server, Transact SQL, etc.
• LINQ, JQuery, ASMX Web Services, WCF, XML, HTML/DHTML, CSS, Web Forms, IIS 7.0/7.5
• Experience with SQL Server Database Backend development (Triggers, procs, functions). Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS will be a plus.
• Experience in developing cloud native applications preferably on Microsoft Azure Cloud, with Azure Developer or DevOps Engineer certification, and working know-how of the following:

- App Services, Microservices, Containers, Functions

- Azure Cloud Storage and security (BLOBS, Data Lakes, AKV, etc.) 

and Cloud Databases

- DevOps, CICD, GIT, GITHUB, Test-Driven Development (TDD)

• Any experience with Machine Learning technologies, AI is a plus.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as bootstrap, 3rd party components such as Telerik, Kendo, SoftArtisans
• Experience with SAST and DAST software and code security fixes
• Experience with Test-based Development using unit testing and end to end UI testing.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented techniques, design patterns, FIPS compliance and best practices

Required Education:

• Candidate must have at least a bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or related field
• Candidate must have at least 3 years of software development experience
