The Institutional Product Group engineers create and maintain a suite of products catering to institutional customers of all sizes from Hedge Funds (Coinbase Prime) to experienced individual traders (Coinbase Advanced Trade) and everything in between. Additional Products include Prime - Custody Only, Prime Web3 Wallet, Commerce and Exchange. Whether the customer needs are trading, staking, governance, custody, web3 operations, or API integrations, Coinbase Institutional has them covered.

Engineers on this team are serving institutional clients while working deeper into crypto native. Our team makes it possible for institutional clients to earn additional yield by staking the crypto that they custody with us. Additionally we partner with asset issuers to offer staking at the same time they launch their asset, as a day 1 partner.

What you'll be doing:

• You will write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers
• You will execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end to help Coinbase fulfill its mission to increase economic freedom in the world
• You will independently take ownership over the completion and quality of your tasks and projects
• Show bias for action, and data-driven decisions to experiment new solutions as fast as possible
• You will be collaborating with the other engineers, product managers and designers at Coinbase

What we look for in you:

• You have graduated university with internship and industry experience
• You write high quality, well tested code
• You build resilient and scalable micro-services
• You’re excited about tackling complex problems and getting things done
• You have experience executing technical tasks and projects end-to-end
• You’re passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together.
• You're an excellent written and verbal communicator in English 

Nice to haves:

• You have at least 1 year of experience with Golang, Protobuff, GRPC, GraphQL, MongoDB, Docker, Ruby on Rails.
• You’ve worked on engineering teams in the finance space
• You are passionate about blockchain technology and a power user of crypto exchange applications or dapps
