Job Description

Team: Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Energy Engineer Senior Associate based in the United States.

This role focuses on advanced energy engineering and building performance optimization across complex commercial and mission-critical environments.
You will be responsible for energy modeling, audits, simulations, and energy conservation measures that directly influence building efficiency and sustainability outcomes.
The position sits within a multidisciplinary engineering team, collaborating closely with designers, project leads, and leadership stakeholders.
You will contribute to both design and audit phases, helping shape energy-efficient solutions from early analysis through implementation.
The role also involves hands-on technical work such as load calculations, simulation analysis, and system performance evaluation.
You will support commissioning and retro-commissioning activities while ensuring data-driven insights guide engineering decisions.
This is a remote position offering flexibility, technical depth, and exposure to high-impact, sustainability-focused projects.

Accountabilities

  • Perform intermediate energy engineering tasks including load calculations, energy simulations, and system performance analysis.
  • Conduct energy audits (ASHRAE levels) and identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) for commercial and mission-critical buildings.
  • Develop and review energy models using industry-standard tools such as eQuest, IESVE, EnergyPlus, HAP, or similar platforms.
  • Support engineering design activities by preparing drawings, specifications, sequences of operations, and technical documentation.
  • Assist in commissioning and retro-commissioning (Cx/RCx) activities, including data collection and system performance evaluation.
  • Analyze building systems and recommend efficiency improvements based on simulation results and field data.
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and client deliverables with clear, data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with project teams and vendors on energy-efficient HVAC systems and metering solutions.
  • Support proposal development, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and feasibility analysis.
  • Ensure timely completion of deliverables while maintaining quality, accuracy, and compliance with project standards.

  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related discipline.
    • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in energy engineering, mechanical design, or building performance analysis.
    • Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, energy audits, and energy conservation measures (ECMs).
    • Hands-on experience with energy modeling tools such as eQuest, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, IESVE, or EnergyPlus.
    • Understanding of load calculations, energy simulations, and building systems performance analysis.
    • Experience with payback analysis methods such as NPV and IRR.
    • Familiarity with commissioning (Cx) and retro-commissioning (RCx) processes is highly valued.
    • Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills with attention to technical accuracy.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
    • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Benefits

      • Competitive annual salary: $94,000 – $110,000 (based on experience and location)
      • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance (including coverage for dependents)
      • 401(k) plan with company match and investment options
      • Flexible spending accounts (FSA)
      • Paid time off including additional year-end holiday leave
      • Company-paid life insurance and disability coverage (short-term and long-term)
      • Paid parental leave after eligibility period
