This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineering Manager – Windows & macOS based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-impact desktop engineering team responsible for building and maintaining mission-critical native applications used by hundreds of thousands of users globally. You will oversee the development of Windows and macOS desktop clients that serve as the primary gateway to a secure, cloud-based ecosystem. The position combines people leadership, technical oversight, and cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, and customer-facing teams distributed across multiple geographies. You will play a key role in shaping engineering practices, improving product reliability, and ensuring high-quality user experiences at scale. The environment is fast-paced, globally distributed, and strongly focused on engineering excellence and continuous improvement. This is a leadership role for someone who can balance delivery, team growth, and long-term technical vision while driving innovation, including AI adoption in desktop workflows.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and mentor a distributed team of Windows and macOS desktop engineers, ensuring effective delivery, collaboration, and professional growth
  • Define team priorities in partnership with Product teams across India, Poland, and the US, translating customer and business needs into clear engineering roadmaps
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of large-scale desktop applications used by hundreds of thousands of users globally
  • Drive engineering execution, ensuring high-quality codebases, performance, reliability, and maintainability across the desktop platform
  • Establish strong engineering processes, remove delivery blockers, and ensure clear requirements and technical direction before execution
  • Manage performance, productivity, and continuous improvement of engineering practices within the team
  • Monitor application usage, reliability, and performance metrics to proactively improve product quality
  • Respond to customer feedback through prioritization, patch releases, and collaboration with support and product stakeholders
  • Participate in hiring and team scaling, ensuring the right talent mix to support business growth
  • Drive career development plans, coaching, and growth opportunities for engineers within the team
  • Champion AI adoption and innovation within desktop engineering workflows and product capabilities
  • Collaborate with global leadership to influence engineering standards and contribute to company-wide technical initiatives
  • Requirements

    • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience, including at least 3+ years in an engineering management or leadership role
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
    • Proven experience leading engineering teams in mid- to large-scale product environments
    • Strong background in desktop application development (Windows and/or macOS), with exposure to technologies such as C++, C#, SwiftUI, or Python
    • Experience managing distributed or remote engineering teams across multiple time zones
    • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and alignment of engineering delivery with business goals
    • Demonstrated ability to balance technical decision-making with product and stakeholder needs
    • Strong leadership, communication, and facilitation skills, including excellent English communication
    • Experience driving engineering quality, reliability, and performance in customer-facing applications
    • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional, and global environments
    • Strong judgment in prioritization, delegation, and empowering teams while maintaining accountability
    • Experience collaborating closely with Product, Design, and senior engineering stakeholders
