About the role

As Fat Structuring Specialist, your main responsibility is to develop and bring the best fat solution to Upfield products, ranging from plant butter, spread, cream to plant-based cheese. You will work with multiple internal and external stakeholders to get the things done, also to unlock the learning by driving research in both lab, pilot and factory scale. On top of it, like other young Upfielder, you will be given chance to lead project and trained to be future leader in the organization.  

This is a contributor-level role, reporting directly to the Oils and Fats Manager within the R&D Technology team.

So, what does it take to be successful in this role?

• Master’s degree with practical experience in Oils and Fats processing or structuring in food application; or bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years working experience in Oils and Fats related industry.
• You must speak the language of fat structuring, with good knowledge and hands on experience in oils and fats analysis, preferably DSC, NMR and microscope.
• Good knowledge in lipid oxidation and food safety are the plus points.
• Good knowledge in statistical analysis, and able to correlate data to prove hypothesis by using statistical software likes JMP is preferred.
• Good critical thinking with industrial research mindset.
• Good problem solver and strong communicator.
• Good flexibility and willingness to adapt within a fast-changing environment.
• Show responsibility, willing to own and drive things through to enable delivery.
• Self-starter but can also work in a global framework.
• Fluent in English, in both spoken and written.
