This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Access Manager based in the United States.
This field-based role sits at the intersection of patient access, reimbursement strategy, and healthcare provider support, ensuring patients can access essential eye care therapies without unnecessary barriers. You will serve as a trusted resource to healthcare professionals and their office staff, helping them navigate complex insurance coverage, reimbursement pathways, and patient assistance programs. The role requires strong collaboration across internal teams and external partners, including payers, vendors, and field sales colleagues. You will act as a subject matter expert on access solutions, resolving reimbursement challenges and improving patient outcomes through education and hands-on support. This is a highly autonomous, travel-oriented position where you will own your territory and build long-term relationships across the healthcare ecosystem. Accountabilities:
- Partner with healthcare provider offices, support staff, third-party vendors (including HUBs), and other stakeholders to ensure effective patient access to therapies and support programs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on reimbursement processes, payer policies, utilization management, financial assistance programs, and alternative funding solutions.
- Develop and maintain Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships, in collaboration with territory and account teams, to support access and reimbursement initiatives.
- Design and execute territory-specific business plans aligned with brand strategies and organizational objectives.
- Maintain strong knowledge of local and national payer landscapes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance structures.
- Educate healthcare providers and office staff on reimbursement support tools, patient assistance programs, and access resources.
- Collaborate with Managed Markets and internal stakeholders to resolve access barriers and reimbursement challenges.
- Deliver presentations, training sessions, and educational materials related to patient access and reimbursement support.
- Conduct pre-call planning with field teams to ensure alignment on visit objectives and territory priorities.
- Monitor, document, and communicate access-related issues, payer updates, and reimbursement trends to internal partners.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in reimbursement, patient access, market access, or related healthcare support roles.
- Experience working with pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device organizations in reimbursement, field access, or similar functions.
- Strong understanding of payer systems, insurance coverage, benefit verification, prior authorization, and patient out-of-pocket considerations.
- Knowledge of public and private reimbursement systems, including Medicare and Medicaid structures.
- Proven experience delivering presentations, training sessions, or educational content to healthcare audiences.
- Strong project management and territory management capabilities with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to navigate compliance requirements and operate within strict regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record in accordance with company requirements.
- Ability to travel extensively (50–70%), including overnight travel up to three nights per week.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a field-based environment.
