Team: Finance

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Finance Director based in Canada.

This is a high-impact, strategic finance role supporting multiple client engagements across founder-led consumer and retail businesses. You will act as a key analytical partner to senior finance leaders, translating complex financial data into actionable insights that guide growth, profitability, and capital allocation. The role combines hands-on financial modeling with executive-level advisory work in a fast-paced, multi-client environment. You will build and maintain robust forecasting systems, performance dashboards, and investor-ready materials. Your work will directly influence decisions around margins, pricing, and operational efficiency across scaling businesses. This position is ideal for a finance professional seeking autonomy, variety, and meaningful exposure to senior stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

  • Own end-to-end financial data management across multiple client portfolios, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting of KPIs, margins, and performance metrics.
  • Partner with accounting and controllership teams to validate financial statements, month-end close outputs, and reconciliation processes from source systems to executive reporting.
  • Develop and maintain executive dashboards, board reporting packages, investor materials, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes across multiple engagements, ensuring alignment with business goals and financial targets.
  • Build and maintain advanced financial models including three-statement models, long-term forecasts, scenario planning, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Analyze unit economics, pricing structures, channel performance, vendor terms, and cost drivers to identify risks and opportunities for margin improvement.
  • Support strategic discussions with CFOs, founders, and leadership teams, providing clear, data-driven recommendations for operational and financial decisions.
  • Contribute to fundraising, M&A, and diligence processes through investor materials, cash flow analysis, and capital allocation modeling.
  • Requirements:

    • 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial operations, controllership, or related finance functions.
    • Strong experience owning planning cycles, financial reporting, executive dashboards, and end-to-end financial analysis.
    • Advanced financial modeling expertise, including multi-year three-statement models, forecasting, scenario planning, and cash flow analysis.
    • Solid understanding of accounting principles such as accrual vs cash accounting, revenue recognition, COGS, inventory accounting, and reconciliations.
    • Experience working with consumer-focused business models such as retail, DTC, omnichannel, CPG, beauty, or similar industries.
    • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly to CFOs, founders, and senior stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy, prioritization, and judgment.
    • Experience in multi-client, consulting, or portfolio-based finance environments is a strong plus.
    • Familiarity with tools such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, BI platforms, or similar systems is an asset.
    • Exposure to fundraising, M&A, lender reporting, or investor relations is considered a strong advantage.
    • Experience using AI tools or automation to improve finance workflows is a plus.
    • Benefits:

      • Access to a high-value perk marketplace offering discounts on a wide range of global services.
      • Option to access a portion of approved earnings before standard payday cycles.
      • Flexible remote work arrangement supporting work-life balance across Canada.
      • Exposure to high-growth, founder-led businesses with significant strategic impact.
      • Opportunity to work closely with senior finance leaders and expand into CFO-track responsibilities.
