This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Finance Manager (13 Month Contract) based in Canada.

This role offers a high-impact opportunity to lead core accounting operations and contribute directly to the modernization of finance processes within a growing organization. You will oversee financial reporting, month-end close, and day-to-day accounting activities while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. The position combines hands-on financial leadership with strategic involvement in transformation initiatives such as process automation, system enhancements, and AI-driven finance improvements. You will also play a key role in supporting post-merger integration efforts and strengthening the overall financial infrastructure. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead a small accounting team and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders. This is a highly visible role that blends operational excellence with forward-looking finance transformation in a fast-paced environment. Your work will directly support scalable growth and long-term financial stability.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities through a small accounting team.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
  • Manage external audit processes and coordinate effectively with auditors and external advisors.
  • Support lender, investor, and Board reporting requirements with high-quality financial insights and reporting packages.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and internal controls across finance operations.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives, including system upgrades, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to optimize workflows.
  • Develop and maintain finance policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure operational consistency and compliance.
  • Support tax compliance initiatives, including sales and use tax (SALT) requirements and nexus assessments.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors on indirect tax and compliance matters.
  • Manage transfer pricing processes and maintain documentation for intercompany transactions and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to post-merger integration activities and broader strategic finance initiatives.
  • Requirements:

    • CPA designation is required.
    • 5–8+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
    • Strong expertise in financial reporting, month-end close processes, and accounting operations.
    • Proven experience managing audits and working with external auditors and advisors.
    • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement finance systems or operational enhancements.
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical capabilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
    • Experience with tax compliance, including indirect tax or SALT (preferred).
    • Exposure to transfer pricing, intercompany accounting, or SaaS environments (preferred).
    • Experience with automation, AI-enabled finance tools, or finance transformation initiatives (preferred).
