Job Description
The Finance & Strategy team is responsible for improving strategic and financial decision-making across the company. We maintain the company's operating model, analyze deals and capital allocation decisions, and think a lot about strategy.
We are looking for a Manager to join our International Finance & Strategy Team and report into our Head of Finance & Strategy - APAC, based in the US.
You will play an important part in Square's success in Japan by working directly with Square's product, business, and finance leaders, driving financial planning and business forecasting, and developing strategic analysis around important programs.
You Will:

• Lead top-line revenue forecasting for our Japan market including, quarterly, annual and long-range planning cycles, using KPI, churn and seasonality models
• Be the primary Finance Business Partner (FBP) for local teams and collaborate across all levels and departments in the organization
• Lead strategic decisions, including projects on partner negotiations, pricing design, customer behavior analysis and economics, Hardware Pricing, LTV / Return analysis, market/competitive landscape benchmarking, and other data-driven analysis
• Create analyses that facilitates clear decision-making, mine data from our databases to predict short-term and long-term trends
• Own the monthly performance reporting, identifying key drivers as well as any risks or opportunities
• Partner with the International Accounting team on transactional and financial close matters to ensure accuracy over financial statement reporting
• Partner with other teams (e.g. Accounting, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Sales and Marketing, and others) to report on the financial impact of decisions across the company
• Prepare analysis and support communication to product leaders, board members and executive staff

Qualifications
You Have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience
• Excellent proficiency in financial modeling and Excel (be prepared for a case study)
• Strong experience with SQL and data visualization tools (Looker)
• Commitment to Square's purpose of Economic Empowerment
• Fluency in Japanese

• Experience with payments industry
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Looker) and reporting tool (e.g. Hyperion)
