Front-End Developer

You’ll love our Front-End Developer role if you have: (This is the stuff you MUST have to be a fit)

• A bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of front-end web development experience
  • HTML, CSS (SaSS, LESS), JavaScript
  • Client-side scripting and JS frameworks including jQuery
• Experience and understanding of building and delivering interactive websites from scratch
• Experience with server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SaSS including runtime processors such as Gulp.
• Experience with building UI component libraries, design systems, as well as with API tools, asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Understanding of 508 Accessibility, Content Management Systems, and modern JS libraries and frameworks, such as React or Angular
• Have an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain/maintain

We’ll really love if you have: (This is the bonus stuff that makes you stand out)

• Excitement about UI technology trends as they relate to digital platforms (Design Systems and UI Component Libraries, UI Architecture, Responsive / Reusable Design Patterns)
• Worked as part of an Agile cross-functional team
• Expertise with Developer Tools and Processes including version control (Git), and Agile tracking tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Detailed-oriented and delivery focused problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of API design, web servers, cloud architectures, CI/CD DevOps processes and tools (ex. Jenkins), and backend development including database architecture and data models (SQL, PostgreSQL)
• Basic knowledge of image optimization and authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small optimizations on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Sketch or Figma is a plus
• Experience with Javascript visualization plugins such as Plotly.js, or D3.js
