This role sits at the center of organizational strategy and people leadership, shaping how teams are built, developed, and supported across a fast-growing, mission-driven environment. You will act as a key advisor to senior leadership, helping define and evolve people strategy while ensuring strong execution across the full employee lifecycle. The position combines strategic HR leadership with hands-on operational ownership, spanning talent acquisition, performance management, engagement, and retention. You will lead and develop a small People team while influencing leadership effectiveness across the organization. The environment is dynamic and growth-oriented, requiring both structure and adaptability as the company scales. This is a high-impact role where your work directly shapes culture, leadership quality, and organizational performance.

Accountabilities:

  • Own and evolve the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, development, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Act as a strategic HR business partner to senior leadership, advising on organizational design, talent strategy, and change management.
  • Coach and support leaders at all levels to improve leadership effectiveness, team performance, and alignment with organizational values.
  • Design, refine, and continuously improve core people systems, including performance, rewards, engagement, and HRIS tools.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small People team to ensure strong execution and high-impact delivery.
  • Strengthen organizational clarity, structure, and communication pathways across a distributed workforce.
  • Drive data-informed decision-making across all people-related programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and HR best practices in a distributed environment.
  • Requirements:

    • 8+ years of experience in People, HR, or Culture roles, with at least 3+ years in a leadership/management capacity.
    • Proven experience in small to mid-sized, high-growth, or evolving organizations requiring strong adaptability and influence.
    • Strong business acumen with the ability to align people strategy with broader organizational objectives.
    • Experience coaching senior leaders on talent management, organizational design, and performance topics.
    • Hands-on ownership of multiple core HR functions such as performance management, compensation, talent acquisition, or organizational development.
    • Strong understanding of distributed or remote-first team dynamics and culture-building practices.
    • Familiarity with HR systems and tools such as Gusto, Rippling, Greenhouse, or Lattice.
    • Working knowledge of multi-state employment law and HR compliance requirements.
    • Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Mission-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive compensation package with equity participation.
      • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with significant employer contribution.
      • Open and flexible paid time off policy.
      • Paid parental and medical leave.
      • Generous paid holidays.
      • 401(k) retirement savings plan.
      • Opportunity to shape and scale a high-impact People function in a mission-driven organization.
      • Remote-friendly work environment supporting distributed teams.
      • Inclusive culture focused on growth, recognition, collaboration, and belonging.
