Incubation Senior Online Engineering Lead

As a Senior Lead Online Engineer at Bungie, you will build the architecture and systems that will enable online connections in shared spaces for millions of players. Most importantly, you will work with a fun, dedicated, cross-discipline team united around our mission to create a positive impact on people's lives as we bring a new Bungie world to life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and maintain production-quality systems, workflows, and tools in C++.
• Directly manage and lead several engineers, providing support, technical mentorship, constructive feedback and career development coaching
• Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team to build delightful new experiences.
• Effectively write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, with the ability to summarize complex topics and achieve alignment across multiple teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Ability to communicate with teammates of different technical and non-technical backgrounds to help them navigate technology and achieve their goals.
• Experience leading (direct management, mentoring, or guiding) engineers.
• Experience building client-side social systems (ex. party invite/join flows, matchmaking, chat) for shared online worlds.
• Familiarity with game networking techniques (ex. replication, prediction, security, and optimization strategies)
• Familiarity with strategies to integrate with online services (ex. REST calls to an account system)

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Experience with development using the Unreal Engine
• Experience with development on a variety of platforms (PC, console, mobile)
