Job Description

Here at Anaplan, we have reinvented how companies see, plan, and run their businesses. Our platform allows our customers to uncover new insights, connect their strategy to their plans, and work in ways they had not previously thought possible. Weโ€™re growing fast, constantly innovating, and couldnโ€™t be prouder to help our customers move forward with confidence in a sophisticated and changing world.

We are looking for forward-thinking people who put customer experience at the forefront of every decision. Individuals who thrive on challenges and are ready to grasp the opportunity of a lifetime. Because we fundamentally believe every colleague brings outstanding value to our whole. We are a workplace where each person feels seen, heard, and valued, and can contribute their unique talent to our collective effort. We believe that for ourselves and for our customers.

We're looking for a self-motivated OBSERVABILITY ENGINEERING MANAGER to lead our Observability Engineering team. Anaplan is a high-growth company that is leading the way in enterprise planning. We look for outstanding inquisitive, hard-working people who believe in simplicity, agility and performance and can choose and use the best tools for the job!

In this role you will be leading a remote team of engineers who all play a vital part in ensuring that our support and engineering teams can respond to incidents, validate how their code behaves, and collect data from various teams to make important business decisions. You will enable engineers across the business to see how their services are performing and interacting, in a scalable, performant and cost-effective manner.

Your Impact:

  • Leading a team of remote observability engineers
  • Leading all aspects of observability infrastructure and processes
  • Mentoring and collaborating with platform and engineering teams to share experiences and deliver value
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders to work on creating observability roadmaps
  • Lead your team in developing testable and sustainable solutions to observability problems
  • Be responsible for the observability strategy by creating an extensible framework for monitoring
  • Lead projects that improve observability tools and platforms: metrics, dashboarding, alerting, logging, application performance management and black box monitoring

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience of leading an infrastructure team (added bonus if you have led Observability / Dev-ops / SRE teams)
  • Experience with agile / scrum methodology
  • We are keen to hear from people with experience with at least some of these tools or similar products and passion for learning:
    • Splunk, Grafana Labs, New Relic, Elastic, AppDynamics, Dynatrace or Datadog
    • Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Jaeger
    • Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana (TIG)
    • Elastic Search, LogStash, Kibana (ELK)
  • A development language (preferably Python) with a TDD approach
  • We collect data from AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, VMs and bare metal systems so any experience here would be beneficial

What we offer:

  • A rewarding, progressive career with a company that values diversity, and flexibility and understands the need for a good work/life balance.
  • Market-leading salaries combined with generous bonuses, and a range of comprehensive benefits
  • A range of sports, health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Paid parental and adoption leave if youโ€™ve been with us for at least six months. Plus, a shared parental leave programme.
  • Wellbeing support through 'We Care'.
  • 3 days of paid leave every year to help support the charity or cause of your choice.
  • Huge problems to solve โ€“you will constantly be learning and pushing boundaries, working with some great people!

We believe in maintaining a hiring and working experience in which all people are respected and valued, regardless of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, citizenship, or any other aspect which makes people unique. We hire you for who you are, and we want you to bring your true self to work every day!
