For nearly 20 years, people of all technical backgrounds have been using the Quickbase platform to create solutions that streamline processes, capture real-time data, and improve company operations while working in concert with existing IT systems. Based in Boston, MA, Quickbase has a 5,000+ customer universe of app-enabled businesses. It spans all industries and company sizes, and includes more than half of the Fortune 100. Come join us as we grow.Â
About the office and the teamÂ
We believe that exceptional employees, treated well, are the key to our success. Our teams are small, nimble, and highly empowered to drive product excellence. Each team has its own commitments and outcomes. They savor the surprises and learn fast so that they can be better tomorrow than they are today.
Why should you join the Quickbase UX team?Â
- Our product has a twenty-year history, and our customers love it! Designing for a platform that so many are passionate about is exciting and empowering. With so many features, Quickbase offers endless opportunities to improve our user experience, so there is never a dull moment.
- We collaborate, not just with each other, but with developers and product managers who understand why user-centered design matters. We can resolve debates by mining our own analytics. Most importantly, we can make informed decisions by talking with customers-whose use cases are often surprising.
- We learn and grow by tackling complex design problems together. You will be asked to dig deep in your UX toolkit while keeping in mind different users, and endless use cases, to support the creation of clean and modern interfaces. The UX group is a fun community that shares experience and advice. All voices are heard and have opportunities to make an enormous impact on our product's success.
- The low/no-code space is growing fast and our UX team is in the heart of it!
About this roleÂ
As an Interaction Designer, you are an integral part of the design team-which also includes visual and content designers. With your scrum team you work to understand business needs and product requirements. You'll then transform that understanding into intuitive user-focused experiences, via wireframes and other design documents. You will also help us build our design system of interaction guidelines and patterns, and support the translation of these into re-usable components.
If you enjoy diving into complex design problems and collaborating with a team to create modern, intuitive designs, we'd love to talk with you!Â
Qualifications
- You have at least 2 years of experience delivering interaction designs for products; preferably experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
- You have an online portfolio showcasing interaction design experience or school projects
- You have knowledge of user-centered design principles and best practices, and cloud software industry standards and trendsÂ
- You are curious and motivated to dive deep into complex design problems, to understand their technical limitations, requirements, and user needs, in order to get to a solution and iterate
- You make trade-offs against business, technical, and user constraints
- You are skilled in your favorite design tool (we often use Figma and Axure), but equally skilled in creating lo-fi prototypes for quick experiments
- Knowledge of accessibility standards like WCAG 2.1, and universal design principles, is a big plus
Additional Aspects About Quickbase:Â
- A culture of inclusivity - appreciating you as an individual and member of our diverse community
- Employee Resource Groups fostered around career enablement programs
- Hybrid and remote work model with two regional US offices, Boston and Salt Lake City, with the option for in-person team summitsÂ
- Generous 401(k) match and fitness reimbursement benefitÂ
- Opportunities to participate in charitable events and give back to the community
- Paid parental leave, commuter benefitsÂ
