We are looking for a Jr. IT Control Tester who will lead the testing of IT and Information Security controls and regulatory requirements, including developing compliance testing scripts and procedures. Responsibilities include ensuring processes are compliant, appropriate, and consistent with Information Security risk appetite and strategy.
You will join the Upwork Information Security Team. We are a collaborative, trusting, and high-performing team that loves to produce practical solutions to resolve and mitigate risk. The team has a passion for what we do. You will play an essential role in measuring and testing internal control compliance and working with subject matter experts and technology teams to improve the risk and compliance posture at Upwork and its services and products. This hands-on role will have the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and provide expertise to many teams across Upwork. You will report to the Senior Manager of Policy Operations.
Your Responsibilities:

• Test execution of IT and Information Security controls and regulatory requirements, including controls standards; and developing compliance testing scripts, procedures, and training related to various regulatory requirements
• Execute controls and transaction testing based on applicable Information Security policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Ensure processes are compliant, appropriate, and consistent with Information Security risk appetite and strategy
• Augmentation and enhancements of test scripts across applicable controls and regulations
• Completed control and transactional testing

• Experience in all phases of building monitoring and testing process methodology in different environments
• Information Security control testing experience
• Capable of working with diverse teams and promoting an enterprise-wide positive security culture
• Working with the business and translating gaps into roadmaps lead to improved adherence across the organization
• Desire to be self-driven and autonomous - we need someone who loves to learn, figure it out and make it happen.
