Ardent is seeking a Junior-Mid GIS Developer to join our team.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking a Junior-Mid GIS Developer. 

The successful candidate is well rounded with the willingness and desire to learn. You are passionate about technology, learning new things, and applying Esri GIS technology to solve our Nation’s most critical challenges.

This opportunity involves working directly with Esri suite of applications to support law enforcement and field operators to develop and integrate innovative solutions to meet their mission critical problems.

You will provide hands-on GIS development expertise for multiple ESRI products and system environments, collaborate with other team members, project sponsors, and government personnel to devise practical solutions to problems. 

Responsibilities: 

• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. 
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies to ever changing problems. 
• Expertise in principles of object-oriented software design and programming. 
• Understanding of relational database design technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle and POST REST 

Requirements:

• 1-2 years’ experience with Esri technology suite products including: ArcPy, ArcGIS: FieldMaps, Pro, Enterprise, Desktop, Server.
• Experience with Internet technologies such as HTTP, AJAX, REST web services, and related emerging web standards. 
• Experience with Esri technology stack including but not limited to: ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS for Portal and other GIS based solutions.
• Experience with .NET WebAPI2
• Awareness of Esri geospatial software suite
• Knowledge and experience with Python scripting.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge and experience with XML technology such as XSLT, XML Schema, and XML Namespaces 
• Knowledge and experience with JSON and object serialization
• Ability to thrive in a diverse team environment consisting of colleagues, project sponsors, government contractors, and first responders or other government personnel. 
• Experience with mobile application development including Apple iOS and Android OS
• Experience with Amazon Web Services EC2, S3
• Knowledge of Internet Technologies that comprise the OSI Stack Model such as HTTP, DNS, DHCP, TCP, etc.
• Knowledge of fundamental virtualization principles
• Knowledge of fundamental IP-based networking principles
• Experience with embedded HW development and IoT technologies
• Familiarity with manipulation of big data modeling and statistics
• Comfortable working in both Windows and Linux
• Experience with UI / front end (JS, HTML, CSS) design and development

Education, Citizenship and Clearance Requirements:

• BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. ABET accredited institutions and programs preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship required in order to comply with law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.
• Ability to obtain a CBP Background Investigation and acquire a clearance.
