About the Role:Â
As the Lead Applied AI/ML Research Scientist, your role will be pivotal in leading applied AI research to advance the business, developing innovative algorithms and machine learning models that solve complex real-world business problems. Your role will encompass both conducting advanced research and helping our AI engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation while translating research findings into product enhancements and new business solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research in applied AI and ML, including but not limited to deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, computer vision, generative AI, and evolutionary algorithms.
- Develop and fine tune AI algorithms and ML models to address specific business challenges.
- Collaborate closely with AI engineers and business units to translate research findings into product improvements and innovative solutions that align with business objectives.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in applied AI and ML, and determine their relevance and potential application to our business.
- Publish and present research findings at industry-leading conferences and in reputable journals in the AI field.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to AI engineers, fostering their technical growth and application of AI and ML to business solutions.
- Host internal knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
Required Qualifications:
- PHD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in applied AI and ML research, preferably in a leadership role, with a strong track record of publications in top-tier conferences or journals.
- Expertise in evolutionary algorithms and other AI/ML techniques including deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
- Demonstrable experience in translating research findings into practical business applications and product enhancements.
- Proficiency in AI/ML programming languages such as Python, R, Java, or C++.
- Extensive experience with AI/ML tools and libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or similar.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions for complex business challenges.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring and guiding teams.
Compensation
The annual gross base salary range for this position is $178,000 to $220,000. Actual compensation for this position may vary and will depend on multiple factors including relevant qualifications, experience, education and geographic location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus dependent on various factors, including and without limitation, individual and company performance in addition to base salary.
