Job Description

Team: IT

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Embedded Electrical Engineer in the United States.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the design and development of embedded electrical systems for connected devices, from early concept through production. The Lead Embedded Electrical Engineer will work closely with software, hardware, and product design teams to ensure robust, scalable, and manufacturable solutions. You will take ownership of PCB design, electrical architecture, and prototype validation while collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-performance, reliable products. This position is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and communicating design decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. The environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and innovation-driven, providing exposure to advanced IoT technologies and production-level hardware development.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the design, validation, and debugging of embedded electrical systems and custom PCBAs.
  • Architect electrical subsystems for IoT and connected devices, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and product design.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and DMMs for hardware validation and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all hardware designs are production-ready and manage interactions with contract manufacturers.
  • Translate business and product requirements into technical electrical solutions, considering trade-offs and risks.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in best practices for embedded electrical design.
  • Requirements:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field (MS preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded electrical engineering; 7+ years preferred.
  • Strong experience with PCB design, embedded microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, ESP32), and digital communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Knowledge of wireless communication hardware, AC/DC and battery power systems, and low-power embedded design.
  • Proficiency with hardware design tools such as Altium, PCB mills, and electrical diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to convey technical decisions clearly.
  • Experience taking hardware designs from concept through prototype validation to production readiness.
  • Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $130,000–$150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
  • Variable compensation up to 15%.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • $200/month cell/internet stipend and $600/year home office equipment stipend.
  • Paid parental leave (95th percentile in the U.S.) and continuing education stipend ($2,500/year after one year).
  • Loaned MacBook Pro and other necessary equipment for the role.
  • Remote work flexibility with a collaborative, innovative, and award-winning company culture.
