Team: Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Network Modeling & Strategy Planner based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of advanced network strategy, financial modeling, and data-driven decision-making, supporting the evolution of large-scale fiber and transport infrastructure in response to rapidly growing digital demand.
You will play a key role in shaping multi-year network investment strategies that enable connectivity for AI workloads, cloud services, and data-intensive applications.
The position focuses on translating complex technical and network constraints into clear, actionable business strategies that guide executive decision-making.
You will partner across product, sales, engineering, and analytics teams to evaluate investment scenarios, customer demand signals, and competitive dynamics.
A strong emphasis is placed on modeling network expansion options, optimizing capital allocation, and identifying revenue opportunities.
This is a highly cross-functional and strategic role that combines technical depth with business impact.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and refine multi-year network strategy and investment models supporting fiber expansion, infrastructure planning, and demand-driven growth initiatives.
  • Analyze customer demand signals and translate them into actionable network plans across fiber, lit services, and critical infrastructure.
  • Model and evaluate investment scenarios including fiber builds, leased capacity, M&A opportunities, and partnership structures.
  • Support revenue modeling, financial forecasting, and competitive analysis to guide strategic decision-making and market positioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Product, Engineering, Finance, and Analytics) to align operational execution with strategic priorities.
  • Translate complex technical network architectures into clear business insights, dashboards, and executive-level recommendations.
  • Define requirements for data science and analytics teams to support advanced modeling, simulation, and scenario planning.
  • Partner with GIS and data visualization teams to enhance tools that communicate network capabilities and strategic outcomes.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on network design, investment trade-offs, and long-term planning decisions.

  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Data Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • 6–8+ years of experience in network strategy, telecom planning, data analytics, or related technical/financial roles.
    • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills with strong business and financial acumen.
    • Expertise in SQL, data extraction, and manipulation of large and complex datasets across structured environments.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for modeling and executive-level storytelling.
    • Experience translating complex technical concepts into actionable business recommendations.
    • Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Familiarity with fiber networks, transport infrastructure, or telecom architecture is highly preferred.
    • Exposure to AI/ML concepts, network demand modeling, or advanced scenario planning is a plus.
    • Ability to manage ambiguity, shifting priorities, and complex strategic problem-solving at scale.
