Accountabilities:
The Lead of Risk Strategy will be responsible for defining and executing comprehensive fraud risk management strategies while improving risk governance, operational efficiency, and business resilience. This role requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions to address evolving risk challenges.
- Develop and execute risk strategies designed to mitigate fraud risks across platforms, products, and user interactions.
- Enhance risk detection capabilities across key areas such as account takeover, payment fraud, and emerging fraud or scam patterns.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to design scalable risk controls and continuously improve prevention mechanisms.
- Support new product launches and business initiatives by creating tailored risk frameworks and mitigation strategies.
- Define, monitor, and report key risk performance indicators to improve protection levels while optimizing operational costs.
- Manage risk strategy performance, ensuring quality, stability, and continuous improvement of risk processes.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to optimize transaction monitoring, screening processes, and regulatory risk controls.
- Lead initiatives that simplify risk rules and improve effectiveness while maintaining strong compliance standards.
- Manage and develop the risk strategy team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on agility, ownership, and innovation.
- Identify opportunities to improve team structures, workflows, and processes to support scalability.
- Explore and implement advanced technologies, including AI and machine learning solutions, to enhance risk detection and automation.
- 5+ years of experience in risk management, fraud prevention, or strategic risk roles within fintech, financial services, technology, or digital asset industries.
- Proven experience developing and implementing risk strategies that deliver measurable improvements in fraud reduction, operational efficiency, or cost optimization.
- Strong understanding of fraud detection methodologies, risk frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing complex projects involving cross-functional teams such as Compliance, Data Science, Engineering, and Product.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience building teams, driving organizational change, and improving operational processes.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills with the ability to translate insights into business actions.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or automation applications in risk management is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
