This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Software Engineer in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the development of high-impact software that directly shapes the user experience across critical customer journeys. You will work on both frontend and backend systems, driving improvements in conversion, onboarding, and performance while leveraging modern technologies and AI-assisted development tools. The position combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration. You will design scalable, secure, and reliable systems, optimize user flows, and guide experimentation to deliver measurable business outcomes. Accountabilities:
- Lead the end-to-end development of scalable frontend and backend systems that enhance user experience and drive measurable growth
- Own conversion and funnel optimization, identifying friction points and implementing solutions to improve conversion rates and revenue
- Design, implement, and analyze experiments (A/B testing, feature flags, etc.) to validate hypotheses and inform product decisions
- Contribute to AI-powered onboarding experiences to improve user guidance and completion rates
- Ensure system performance, reliability, and observability, addressing bottlenecks in high-impact areas of the application
- Mentor and guide engineers on best practices, testing, observability, and CI/CD processes
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and other squads to align on growth strategies, insights, and outcomes
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in product-driven teams with a focus on user impact
- Strong proficiency in frontend technologies (React, NextJS, TypeScript) and backend development (Node.js)
- Experience designing and working with APIs and databases (e.g., MongoDB, Postgres) to support fast, reliable flows
- Hands-on experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation, AWS CDK)
- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code, supporting rapid iteration through CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with experimentation-driven development, A/B testing, and feature flagging
- Strong skills in performance optimization, debugging, observability, and monitoring high-traffic applications
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and willingness to leverage AI in product development
- Knowledge of security and privacy best practices for sensitive user data
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
